The figure crossed from left to right in a few strides and disappeared over the roadside bank. After stopping and backing up to the spot, the witness reported a musty smell, faint brush movement, and a feeling of being watched before driving away.

The husband heard brush movement across a ditch and then saw a hair-covered figure from the chest up watching them from 20 to 30 feet away. After watching for several minutes, the couple slowly left uphill while the figure continued to observe, and the wife also saw it as they left.

The witness was hunting squirrels alone late in the afternoon along an old road near a swamp. After smelling a strong foul odor and hearing growls, hoot-like sounds, footsteps and brush movement, the witness continued toward a clearing. The witness then saw a tall reddish hairy creature cross the road behind them in one step and run into the brush, then ran to the truck and left.

While hiking alone and descending a dry trail, the witness heard a loud crashing nearby and saw a large black ape-like animal running uphill, visible from the waist up. The animal tripped, caught itself, showed its face in profile, then disappeared while a fallen tree rocked and a possible face was glimpsed. The witness photographed the area, heard and saw nothing further, found no other tracks, and later found possible scat in the direction the animal headed.

They heard repeated deep growls and saw the silhouette of a large man-like figure with a cone-shaped head and very wide shoulders walking silently up the road toward them. The witness pulled to the side of a road near woods and a river around 9 p.m. to relieve himself. The accompanying dog began growling and barking, and the witness saw a very large figure cross the road in about two steps and disappear into the woods about 30 yards away. When the witness walked toward the spot with the dog and a flashlight, the dog refused to advance, a strong musky smell was noticed, and cracking sounds in the vegetation moved toward them, prompting the witness to return to the car and drive away.

They took flashlights outside and watched an ape-like animal crouched at the woods edge across the street for about 10 minutes, noting its long hair, eye color, and behavior in the lights. When they went inside briefly to get car keys for headlights, the animal had disappeared.

A team of four was conducting a nighttime sound survey from a clear-cut overlooking a river valley while one member did a live radio interview from a parked vehicle near the treeline. The interviewer heard repeated charging sounds, footfalls and a grunt-growl from dense brush a few feet away while two teammates uphill watched with a night-vision device. The uphill observers reported a huge 8-foot-plus figure about 25 feet away leaning side to side to look through the trees and moving its arms. The episode lasted about 30 minutes, followed later by a distant scream, and a next-day search found disturbed soil but no footprints.

The witness pulled off a highway west of Cody in late afternoon to hike north through timber and rocky outcrops. Over about an hour the witness heard rocks rolling, brush breaking and movement that seemed to follow and stop with them. While returning toward the road the witness turned to see an upright, brown, long-haired animal about 60-70 yards away that immediately leapt into dense timber. The witness was uncertain whether the sounds and sighting involved the same animal and noted a bear as a possible alternative, only later considering Bigfoot after finding a website.

The witness was hunting from the ground off a road with a relative nearby. After hearing tree breaks, movement, strange noises and heavy footsteps, the witness saw a large red bipedal animal walk along the road. When the witness spoke on the radio the animal screamed and ran away, and two large footprints were later found in silt.

Two relatives were at a tree house in the evening when one noticed squawking birds, a shaking tree, and a long tail. After regrouping in the tree house, they fled toward a vehicle when a creature reportedly jumped from the tree and ran toward them. They reached the house highly frightened and later refused to return alone.
