Looking out a lit window from a few feet away, he watched a large hairy creature squat on the porch and rummage through trash bags for an extended time without showing its face. The creature then leapt down and left across a road and ravine.

When he tried to shut his front door, something held it open against his push. The witness and a companion were alone at the witness's parents' house at night when they saw a head looking in through the front door. They retreated to a bedroom without curtains where they heard breathing and scratching and saw a hairy hand against the window screen. The companion fired two shots that missed, and the figure ran away. A sheriff who responded found bullet holes but no blood or footprints.
