The witness was driving with family on the interstate in the early evening before dark. He looked across the opposite lanes and noticed a tall dark bipedal figure near the tree line, then watched it turn and walk into the woods. The family members in the vehicle did not see it. He later described the figure as tall, dark, lean yet muscular, with low-hanging arms and fluid movement.

The witness was asleep at home when loud moaning and howling outside the open bedroom window woke her. The sounds shifted from distress-like cries to very deep angry growls. A pet dog barked from below, then something approached the garage area, growled deeply, and struck the building, after which the dog fell silent. The witness was driving on a back road at night with three companions when a light-brown figure crossed the road in front of the car and entered the woods. Only the witness and the front-seat companion saw the mid- and lower torso and legs moving with fast, person-like strides. The driver slowed with intent to stop but kept driving after the back-seat passengers asked not to stop.

Two scouts hiding in brush during an evening Capture the Flag game at a Boy Scout camp reportedly flushed a tall, hair-covered biped. The creature moved away through the woods while both watched, and they then left the area quickly. The account was relayed secondhand by a fellow camper and later supplemented by a phone conversation with one of the witnesses.

The witness and extended family had arrived late for a summer visit at the grandparents' mountain home and were talking inside. An older relative noticed something at the high kitchen window, prompting several men to go outside with firearms. The grandfather fired a shotgun toward the rear of the house while the witness, locked out front, saw the outline of a shoulder and head with reflective eyes near the roofline. The group regrouped inside, and dogs normally around the house were absent that night but returned frightened in the morning.

Two companions walking on a trail toward a fishing spot in the late afternoon saw a tall dark figure cross the trail about 50 yards ahead. The figure took a couple steps, paused to look at them, then moved away quickly and disappeared from view. The witnesses went to the crossing point but could no longer see the figure and found no tracks aside from rub marks, then returned home without fishing.
Memory told of a close daylight encounter behind a home outside Sandy Lake
Before school the witness and his mother saw a large brown biped moving along a powerline toward woods behind their home. The witness ran toward the treeline and watched the creature pause and turn its upper body to look at him from about 50 yards, then stride away down a creekbed and disappear. Later that day he and his father found large heel impressions where it had leapt off a bank.

In fall 1986 the witness was sitting in a parked truck at night in Hell's Hollow talking with a companion. A large dark-brown biped estimated at 7 to 8 feet tall walked past within a few feet of the front of the truck and disappeared into thick brush. The witness drove away quickly and believed the companion had not seen the figure.
