The witness was elk hunting with a companion in the evening near a pickup. After hearing loud movement coming downhill, the witness briefly saw a bipedal figure running along a ridge through burned trees, then heard loud screams. The companion also heard the screams over the radio and in person as they met to discuss it.

The witness was walking in woods behind the house in late afternoon when rustling was heard ahead. A very tall dark hairy biped stepped into a small clearing about 20 yards away, looked at the witness, then turned and left into the tree line. A strong foul odor was noticed, and days later a single large five-toed footprint impression was found along the route.
Unusual incident... a horseback rider's close encounter
The witness was riding a horse on a wooded dirt road at dusk when the horse became agitated. After hearing rustling and a loud scream, the witness saw eyes and then a large upright creature that lunged out and seized the saddle. Face to face with the creature, the witness clung to the horse's neck as it bolted without looking back. The saddle was later described as torn with deep gouges.
