Alone at a primitive mining camp on a warm spring day, the witness heard huge rocks splashing into the river with ground concussion, then wood breaking behind the trailer. Dogs stared down a trail as a large dark shadow crossed it in one step with heavy thumping footsteps. A partner later measured the crossing height at just over eight feet and found freshly twisted saplings and missing riverside boulders.

The witness and friends drove to a remote gravel road to party at night. After a loud crash from a tree, something bipedal circled them making growling sounds and then gave a loud roar they could feel. It stepped into the spotlight as a massive white figure, climbed a bank in three steps and rushed their truck before they fled, later returning in daylight to find impressions on the bank.

The witness and his father were awakened around 2 a.m. by knocking at their motel door. Looking through the peephole they saw a tiny elderly woman outside, but when the door was opened she was suddenly a football field away. They followed tiny boot prints across a field into the woods for a quarter to half a mile until the tracks abruptly stopped.
Night time encounter with parked trucker and wife near Post Falls
The witness and his wife had pulled off the interstate late at night while trucking to rest and do paperwork. After stepping out of the truck, the witness came face to face with a giant hairy biped standing close by. He retreated to the truck, where his wife had watched through the windshield, and they watched and heard the creature move back into dense forest breaking branches.
Two separate sets of large footprints found
The witness reports finding footprints attributed to two large creatures around a rented ranch house in frozen winter conditions. The prints were backtracked to a gulch where they overlapped earlier hiking tracks, with one set circling buildings and a smaller set staying near outbuildings. The prints broke through hard-frozen snow and ice, taken as indicating great weight, but the creatures themselves were not seen.

During a deer-hunting drive in foggy woods, the witness and his father found large bipedal tracks over their tire marks and concluded a bear could not have made them. As they circled back, an unseen animal tracked them, producing a strong foul odor and a high-pitched squeal before thrashing off toward the mother waiting at the truck. They later found uprooted small trees, additional tracks in camp, hair on fencing, and a woody debris structure, and heard screaming and a howl that prompted a relative to leave camp.

The witness was hunting small game on a family farm at dusk and started toward home through a field. The witness noticed a large dark hairy figure crawling low across the field dragging its rear legs and using its long arms. The witness stayed in place until a parent arrived on a tractor, then left the area. The next day the witness found drag marks and large footprints leading toward nearby woods.

After hearing screams the previous evening, the witness and a companion walked into a heavily wooded area along a power line toward a creek. They felt they were being followed and then saw a large bipedal figure moving toward the creek. Frightened, they headed back toward the road and noticed a large footprint in fresh mud along the way.
Elk hunters find two sets of bare-foot tracks in the snow near Palmer Junction
While elk hunting, the witness and companions walked a logging road to meet another party member and found very large tracks in hardened snow that wandered on and off the road. The tracks came in two sizes, crushed the snow to the gravel, and had not been present that morning. The third party member had also noticed the tracks independently, and the group did not follow them and returned to camp.

Three people were camping on a ridge during deer season when they heard heavy footsteps circling and piercing screams. After a tree was heard falling, something very large rushed past the camp breaking saplings, and a snapped tree was later found. A large shadowy outline then watched the camp from beyond the firelight for the rest of the night.
Family hears late night screams near Long Barn
The witness and family were camped in a mountain valley for deer season when loud screams were heard at night over four nights, seeming to come closer each night until only a few hundred feet away. The sound was described as a mix of a woman screaming and a mountain lion roar. The father and uncle later reported finding a footprint on a road that was larger than the uncle's foot. The family left camp the next day.
Man has extraordinary, close encounter while fishing near Huntington
The witness was bass fishing along a lake bank when a commotion in nearby woods drew attention. A large upright apelike creature about seven to eight feet tall emerged, made whoop sounds and a low growl, snapped off a small tree and slapped the ground while staring with flexed muscles. The witness slowly backed away looking down, the animal followed a short distance then turned, paused near a bushy spot, and walked into the woods. The witness rejoined companions who laughed, and has not returned to the area.
Footprints discovered along a creek on a sand bar
A large footprint was reported on a small sandbar where something crossed a creek in a wooded area. A second partial print was also noted before the trackway returned to solid ground. The better print was cast and later viewed and photographed elsewhere, with four toes visible on the cast.
Possible stalking of ROTC Unit at Indian Mound Reserve
The witness was leading a small ROTC patrol on a nighttime escape-and-evasion exercise along creek and cliff trails. The group heard movement and walking above them with small rocks falling, found no one when they climbed to search, then heard heavy running footsteps and branches being swiped aside approaching them that caused the patrol to flee to a field edge. The opposing unit later said it never left base, and a next-day visit found snapped branches above head height but no tracks.

The witness and companions were cooking catfish at a hunting camp when a noise came from the well where fish guts had been left. The witness went toward the well with a light and rifle, heard a moan, and saw a large dark form that stood upright. After shouting warnings and firing shots in the air, the witness said the form moved off and footsteps were heard in leaves. The next day large five-toed tracks were found at the well and most of the guts were gone.

The witness and a companion were inside the home at a table when they heard a noise at a window. A figure appeared at another window very close to the witness's face and remained for a couple minutes before walking away to the east. A relative who arrived later found footprints behind the house.
Deep impressions seen in the snow
The witness and companions drove to the summit of Mt. Mitchell in snow and spotted deep impressions in a roadside snowbank on the way down at night. They returned in daylight and examined a trackway of large prints in 18-inch-deep snow leading up a steep bank into the woods. The prints were about 14 by 7 inches with faint possible toe marks and no claws, and the stride suggested a biped that climbed in two steps and stepped over a three-foot-high branch. They searched the road in both directions without finding a crossing point and concluded the animal had traveled along the road.

The witness was walking with friends when the group found a single bare footprint in melting snow. They told the witness's parents, returned with a tape measure, and photographed the print, which measured 13 to 14 inches long and looked wide. No creature was seen, and the print was described as heading back toward the woods.

The witness and a companion were fishing from shore at a remote northern campground when they watched a tall, reddish-brown, hairy creature stand and walk down an embankment on a peninsula. After discussing the sighting and finding nearby cabins boarded and barricaded, they heard heavy footsteps and a loud growl escalating to a scream near their tent that night. They spent the night in their truck and left early the next morning.

The witness stopped in a boggy area after sundown to fill a canteen while bow hunting. He noticed a dark shaggy huddled shape nearby that later disappeared, then found small human-like tracks in mud and encountered a strong musky odor. The next morning he found space behind a boulder where something could have hidden. Looking back years later he interpreted the shape as several primates huddled together.
