Morning snowmobilers hear howls, tree knocks, branch break 8mi south of Rimrock Lake
Two people on snowmobiles stopped at a bridge in a remote snowy area and removed their helmets. They heard repeated loud howl-like vocalizations from one direction, loud single knocks on a tree from another direction, and a large branch breaking. After about five minutes of silence they heard another series of more distant howls and then left the area.

Two hunters spent eight days camping in a tent while hunting. Most nights they heard moaning/howling and reciprocal wood knocks that seemed to move closer, and one night heard growls outside the tent but saw nothing when they rushed out with guns and flashlights. Twice they returned from hunting to find trees blocking or inside camp, including a large healthy green pine pushed over. After losing sleep they left for a family cabin and returned next morning to find the tent zipper partly open with the lantern still on.

On September 3, 2017, the witness and two companions were picnicking and hiking in forest land near Colville National Forest. During a daytime walk in a dry creek bed, the witness and a companion found two large human-like footprints. That evening at dusk from near their parked vehicle, they made howl calls and tree knocks and heard two howl responses from different directions.

The witness was hiking with a group through a field when he hid by a lone tree after hearing movement and saw a tall dark shaggy figure partly concealed at the wood line about 25 to 30 yards away for about thirty seconds. He became nervous and ran to his companions as loud noise occurred and a tree was reported to fall. Three companions heard the noises but only the witness reports a visual.

Three friends set up camp after moving a fallen live tree that blocked the road. After dark they heard loud rapid trill vocalizations that approached very quickly, then something struck or pushed their truck. They heard wood knocks through the night while remaining awake in fear.

Construction workers found a long line of large tracks in snow after an overnight storm. The investigator followed the trackway about a mile and a half through orchards, fields and a ravine. The steps were 4 to 6 feet apart in a straight line with no animal marks inside, and one clear dirt impression was cast before the trail was lost in a worked orchard.

The witness and her husband were snowshoeing in the early afternoon when they noticed a strong foul odor and a single set of large bipedal tracks in the snow. On a hot Memorial Weekend the witness and a friend camped in tents at an abandoned riverside campsite miles from the original area. They heard surrounding whoops, rock hits on tents, thumping from all sides, and a tree pushed over. Through the night something walked through camp, repeatedly charged the witness tent and grabbed the tent floor, showing large knuckled hands. They left at dawn.

The witness reports living at an RV park with her daughter and hearing frequent activity sounds in the evenings and early mornings. She also reports possibly finding a nest in the nearby woods. After it left, they found very large foot impressions, a pile of picked mushrooms and a leaf with slugs. A couple scouting their wooded hillside property for a cabin site reported a brief daytime glimpse of a very tall figure that turned and ran, accompanied by whoops, movement sounds and a foul odor. That night both reported banging and stick impacts on their cabin lasting for hours. The next morning they reported finding large footprints and scattered sticks around the cabin.

The witness was driving an excavator at night to a new logging job site when he noticed three different-sized footprints in the dusty road surface. He followed the tracks for over a mile to the job site, noting toe detail, lack of arch, and a stride longer than his own. The tracks were later obscured by rain, and no photos were taken.

The witness was camping with a group on a friend's undeveloped property and spent two nights riding ATVs to a remote spot to try imitation yells and tree knocks for fun. The group reported hearing responding knocks, high-pitched vocalizations, loud grunt-like growls from in front and behind, and a very loud tree-breaking sound, all from about 75 to 300 yards away. Nothing was ever seen, and the group left the hillside quickly after the close growls, later listening from camp.

The witness reported a loud contact against the outside garage door in the evening and overnight noises involving a storage box in the pickup truck. He reported watching three pairs of eye reflections at different heights from near the house for about an hour. The next morning he and his companion reported disturbed dew and large barefoot-like tracks in the yard.

The witness hiked down a service road into a ravine and heard two loud wood-on-wood impacts from uphill. After returning to the vehicle for a camera battery, the witness found a line of large tracks crossing a dirt berm that had not been there earlier. The witness photographed the tracks and made a cast of the clearest impression, also noting an odd odor and a crashing sound in the area.

A couple were picking mushrooms in dense old-growth forest in the afternoon when they heard crunching and repeated loud thumping likened to wood knocks from about 100 yards away. A few minutes later a loud snap like a small tree or large branch breaking occurred about 20 feet behind them. Frightened, they abandoned their mushrooms and left the area without seeing the source.

While hiking a closed highway to take landscape photos, the witness found large footprints crossing the road. He estimated them at 17 to 18 inches with a very long linear stride he could not replicate. He photographed them and sent them to a researcher for comparison.
