Camper experiences possible activity, rock thrown in Kaniksu National Forest

On September 3, 2017, the witness and two companions were picnicking and hiking in forest land near Colville National Forest. During a daytime walk in a dry creek bed, the witness and a companion found two large human-like footprints. That evening at dusk from near their parked vehicle, they made howl calls and tree knocks and heard two howl responses from different directions.

two tracks in dried mud heading uphill out of dry creek bed with five separated toes and no claws resembling a human foot
Measurements: about thirteen inches long and four to five inches wide, 1 1/2 inches deep, four feet apart
The witness returned about two weeks later to photograph the tracks but they were gone, apparently washed out by rain.
