Morning sighting by hunter in Homochitto National Forest near Knoxville
The witness was deer hunting in the morning and waiting against a tree when a nearby deer spooked. He then heard heavy breathing and saw a tall hair-covered upright creature standing a few feet behind him. He fled leaving his gun, then returned with two companions to find large three-toed tracks leading to a creek.

Family members found a line of large human-like footprints in sand that started at a lake, went up a steep sand bank, and continued toward a thick swamp. The prints were described as about 16 inches long with a very long stride of about eight feet. The discovery was reported in summer 1991 after a relative noticed the tracks by the lake.

During a group expedition the witness heard two heavy wide-stride bipedal footfalls the first night and found two large heel-only impressions the next morning. The next night there was a massive tree knock with a reply about a hundred yards away. On a night hike the witness was hit with overwhelming fear and had to use breathing to avoid running.

The guest's hunter uncle joined family members to look for the creature near the pond after dark. A figure stood up very close with its arms raised and the uncle fired a carbine, believing he hit it under the arms. The creature made a loud noise and fled, leaving fatty bloody material but no blood trail, only footprints and broken vegetation.

Howl in Texas
Sitting at camp after dark, the group heard a series of loud howl-scream-growl vocals that started hundreds of yards away and came much closer in paced intervals. The tellers said it sounded like a werewolf from a movie and unlike coyote or wolf behavior. A track was later found and cast about 100 yards from camp.
