Three people camping at night heard loud crashing, howling, hooting and screaming sounds circling their camp and then moving up a neighboring hill until gone. The owls they had been calling to fell silent for the rest of the night. The next morning they found large human-like footprints in mud around the camp and broken tree limbs.

Something in the woods mirrored his footsteps and paced him as he ran back, staying about 25 meters away despite his speed. She crouched and covered her ears as the screams repeated, then heard the source run, jump a creek, and crash through brush and small trees on the far side. Her husband, who had been following behind, heard the screams and joined her to watch the vegetation move as the creature left. They left the area without returning for prints after rain washed the site.

They watched two very large black upright figures and then a third taller one stripping branches and bark from trees for about 15 minutes from about 125 feet away before running back to their camper. From a dark forested slope the witness watched a tall tree thrash, then heard a massive thud, three loud knocks, and rapid footsteps sprinting uphill toward the road. An unseen presence stopped feet away breathing sharply, then repeatedly ran ahead and waited, forcing the witness to pass it several times over an eighth to a quarter mile. Near dawn where cover ended the presence vanished without ever being seen.

Two companions trout fishing walked up an old roadbed paralleling the river and stopped where a gully crossed the road. They heard a loud thud and found a large log across the path behind them, then heard leaves shuffling upslope and saw a very large hair-covered figure standing close by. They fled back to their other companions, then the witness returned with two companions, found a large barefoot-like footprint in mud, but saw nothing else.

The witness and a companion heard loud brush movement and limb-breaking sounds at a secluded pond, then smelled a strong unpleasant odor and felt unease. A short time later about a mile away they found a series of five very large footprints in a dried boggy area. They later returned and made a plaster cast and took photos of the prints.

Three coon hunters were walking a trail at night when something followed behind them in the brush. On signal they shined high-beam lights and saw a tall dark brown hairy figure step across the trail in one stride and run up a wooded hill breaking limbs. They gathered the dogs and left without approaching.

The witness and a companion arrived home at night and heard a loud roaring scream twice from a nearby hillside. The witness took a light and walked toward the woods without it on, smelling a strong foul odor and hearing branches breaking. When the flashlight was turned on, the witness briefly saw a tall, large, hairy bipedal animal fleeing through the woods. Broken branches and ground disturbance were found the next day.

A group of six hiked down a mountain trail in the afternoon. A hair-covered biped crossed the trail between the lead hiker and the next person and leapt down an embankment into trees. The party glimpsed movement and heard crashing as a dog chased it, then watched a distant burnt tree sway with creaking before falling. Believing the creature pushed the tree over, the group left quickly.

During a nighttime military training bivouac near Cat Lake, the witness heard huffing and barking sounds approaching down a moonlit hillside with shaking and falling trees. A large upright man-like form with broad shoulders stepped into the clearing, huffed loudly, then ran upright across the clearing with swinging arms and heavy steps felt in the ground. The platoon woke, packed rapidly, and moved away, and a daylight check found knocked-over trees and disturbed soil but no prints.

The witness was teaching a companion how to camp without fire or lights in wooded terrain when they realized they were surrounded by several large upright figures. The figures remained mostly still, with only minor sounds, while the pair talked and then backed out with firearms ready without firing at the figures. One figure was later seen leaping from the roadside high into a tree. The witness returned the next day to recover gear, found extensive large tracks, followed fresh tracks, and encountered one individual at close range.

Three companions camped off-trail in a low valley. In the early morning the reporter and one companion were awakened by loud, close wailing vocalizations followed by crashing vegetation, breaking branches and heavy thuds lasting several minutes. A third companion slept through the episode. The group left at dawn and found no physical signs.

After a tree was heard falling, something very large rushed past the camp breaking saplings, and a snapped tree was later found.
