After a child's whoops received an immediate whoop reply nearby, two adults who stayed behind briefly heard something approach closely then step away, seeing nothing with lights. Two companions stopped while on a fishing outing to inspect a river area. They heard large animals moving on both sides of the road and believed they had interrupted two animals crossing. One animal then charged through brush, knocked vegetation down, and a tree was heard being ripped down, followed by silence and faint hiding sounds. Neither witness obtained a visual, and they left without crossing the river to investigate.

The witness and his uncle were coyote hunting from a truck when they saw a large orange ball of light maneuvering in the sky and heard a loud electric-motor hum. A deer stumbled from the woods and collapsed then recovered, multiple jets converged on the light, all sound stopped, flashes appeared and the light vanished. They then heard loud tree snapping approaching the tree line and fled, later seeing a fast blue streak of light while driving away.

A couple camping on the Mogollon Rim reported being awakened in the early morning by very loud, long screams echoing in a nearby canyon. Both spouses listened for several minutes before briefly leaving the tent and returning to sleep. The next morning the husband walked toward the sound and reported finding a large teepee-like structure of heavy cut poles with no stumps nearby. On the second night no screams were heard, but the wife reported hearing large movement in the woods while the dogs remained uneasy.

After taking a rifle from the truck, the witness heard thrashing in the brush below the road that appeared to parallel movement along the road. Possible activity experienced by campers at a popular campground in the Mount Hood National Forest
The witness and two companions camped in the Mt Hood National Forest with a barrel of animal entrails intended as bait. Over three days they reported loud screams from a nearby ridge, nighttime wood knocks, heavy steps and snapping twigs, and found their camp table apparently bitten through. They moved the bait pile away from camp, later found most of it missing with a wet sweet dog-like odor at the site.

On the ninth night of solo primitive camping, the witness was lying awake in a tent when a very loud thud sounded in front of the tent. Movement was then heard in palmettos beside the tent, followed by human-like whistles exchanged from opposite sides and a guttural growl from behind the tent. The witness stayed inside without looking out and found a snapped limb nearby the next morning before leaving camp early.

In April 2013 the guest took his teenage son camping at a just-opened campground off Highway 14 along the Columbia River. During a daytime walk they found an old large track, opened clam shells out of place, a fresh vine-maple twist tucked behind a fir, an 18-inch footprint beneath it, and several pushed or tossed trees. That night in camp they heard branch-breaking, felt the tarps pulled, heard splashing, felt vibration waves, and heard two wood knocks before leaving exhausted in the morning.

The companion heard the sounds and smelled the odor but did not see the figure, and the pair quickly returned to their vehicle.

They could see nothing by flashlight from their vehicle. Shortly after, occupants of a passing car stopped and said a massive hairy figure had just run across the road in front of them.

A couple camping alone in a state forestry heard large movements around camp all evening. Around 2 a.m. the husband saw a tall hair-covered biped beside their SUV and illuminated it before it ran past him over a gate into the woods. Later both heard knocks and rocks striking their tent for about an hour until a large rock tore the tent roof. Next morning they found partial prints and fresh bark damage before leaving.

On the second evening the witness walked a sandy horse trail about a half mile from an earlier brush trail. He reported hearing an unfamiliar screech/growl, answering wood knocks, loud stomping nearby, and a rock thrown past him, followed by crashing in the brush. The witness was driving home at night on a dirt backroad when something struck the truck, leaving scratches and a dent on the passenger door. After calling for help, the witness with two relatives found footprints along the road and photographed them. While photographing they saw green eye-shine above the brush and a large upright shadowy outline, then heard wood knocks, growling and heavy footsteps before the eyes disappeared.

After photographing it with makeshift scale items, they heard movement and a large branch being twisted on the hillside and left the woods. The witness and his son were deer hunting from a blind in darkness before dawn. After the son woke the sleeping witness, they heard something large moving fast through brush behind the blind. It screamed, stomped hard enough to shake the ground, snapped limbs, and grunted and growled before leaving quickly. The pair then left the area immediately.

The witness shot a deer at dusk and dragged it toward his truck after dark. On the trail he saw a widely spaced pair of large eyes at about his own height that stayed after he fired a handgun into the ground, then left to the side through dense brush with loud crashing. He smelled a foul musky odor and found pushed-over vegetation where it left, felt watched while field-dressing the deer, and later found part of the carcass dragged about 300 yards.
