Before dawn the witness heard the heavy outdoor freezer lid being lifted. After daylight she searched around the house and found two large bare footprints in the driveway about 50 feet away, with no other tracks nearby. She measured and photographed the prints as rain and mild weather melted them, and her daughter also viewed them.

About two decades ago a woman washing dishes at night saw a large hairy-faced man looking through the window above her sink. Police were called and during the subsequent search an officer saw a tall man-like figure run across a highway. Very large tracks with a long stride were found but dogs could not track anything and the figure vanished into river bottoms. A later visitor examined a cast and said weight distribution argued against a fake shoe.

Six soldiers on a night recon patrol through swamp heard an unseen presence following and circling them closely for 10-15 minutes, weaving between them even after they split into two groups. Later two soldiers in ambush position heard a loud scream-roar twice, followed by the sound of a large rotten tree falling and brush breaking. The sounds then stopped and the presence was heard leaving.

They returned in daylight and found large deep footprints in snow, which they photographed and displayed with a written account. The witness and a companion were at a remote camp in the evening when they heard a loud mule-like wailing scream and then saw a tall hairy creature with a relatively hairless face in a spotlight. The creature showed eye reflection, covered its eyes from the light, braced between two small trees with large hairless-palmed hands, then shambled away. The pair heard movement around camp all night and the next day found freshly twisted tree limbs nearby but no usable tracks due to dry ground.

While hunting, the witness saw an elk flee followed by a large dark-brownish animal running about 50 feet beyond it at roughly 300 feet distance, observed briefly through a rifle scope. The witness later found bent grass and a single partial footprint with three toes at the base of an old tree where the animal had run. Three nearby hunters said they saw nothing.

Along the ridge and back to the road they repeatedly noticed a moldy, musky odor and felt as if they were being watched. Near the truck they found very large human-like footprints, about 16 inches long, overlying their own earlier tire tracks. They saw no live animal and left quickly.

Three people hunting in the early morning reached a frost-covered hilltop clearing. They found a shredded shrub with branches piled like bedding, numerous freshly dug holes, and a stump holding freshly picked plants, all without frost. They inferred something had been there just before them and left as they approached.

Animals and birds were seen moving away from the sounds while branches were seen and heard breaking nearby, followed by a loud splash. While mountain biking, the witness heard a large animal moving in brush off the trail but could not see it. About 200 yards farther up the trail, the group found very large detailed footprints overlying companions' tracks, which left the trail for a meadow and reappeared crossing the road about half a mile farther on. Coincidentally encountered bear hunters also examined the prints and were unfamiliar with them.

The guest and his girlfriend camped on a secluded Oregon beach in August 1995. Over about half an hour they watched a tall black figure pace the beach, then approach to close range where hair, massive shoulders, long arms and a gliding walk became clear. Frightened, they fled to their car, sought help at a nearby RV camp, and the next morning photographed large footprints in the sand. The guest later shared the photos with researchers and returned the next year to trace a worn trail into the forest.

They left the area without returning for prints after rain washed the site.

The witness and three companions were sitting by a dying campfire late at night when a dog ran back into camp frightened. They then noticed a tall shadowy figure just beyond the firelight that turned to face them, showing eye reflection and a strong foul wet-animal odor. After staring for under a minute, the figure ran upslope through brush breaking branches, while the group shouted and then kept the fire up all night.

About an hour after dark they heard a loud minute-long scream that shifted in pitch and direction and seemed to originate just outside the camp light. They did not see the source, which then left quietly. The next day they noted apparent bedding under a collapsed cabin roof and an odd-shaped impression in a creek sandbar.

The sounds stopped after deep hooted calls and later receded to distant screams up the valley and across the mountain. Later, while in a tent, the witness saw the firelight blocked by a squatting silhouette that touched the zipper with five digits, with felt breath and strong odor, before withdrawing. In the morning the witness noted hairs and deep depressions on the trail.

The witness and a relative were camping and had just built a fire when they heard a scream from a ridge. After firing a shotgun into the air, they saw the moonlit outline of an upright human-like figure running toward the water's edge while making an unfamiliar howling sound. They also noticed something that looked like a large footprint but were unsure about it.

The guest filmed it at high zoom, noting symmetrical shape and lighter chest, then left to stay on schedule. He watched a large hair-covered biped for about 45 minutes as it struck trees with a rock and listened, pushed over a tree to extract a small mammal, killed and ate it, and dug with a stick. The animal later moved around the mountain, after which deer ran past and the frightened guest waited in a tree until his companion retrieved him.
