The witness and his dog were hunting near a lake in the afternoon when the dog alerted on a huge thorn thicket. A loud scream-roar came from the brush, and the witness fired multiple shotgun loads into the shaking vegetation. A huge dark figure then ran off on all fours, breaking small trees while screaming in apparent pain, and the witness fled.

A few days later the witness was counting cattle in the morning when he noticed a huge upright figure between a barn and a tree across the field. The figure grunted, swiped and broke a large branch, then walked away. The witness later returned with others and estimated the branch height at about eight to nine feet.

A group member investigating a large private property at night left companions to check a trail by a creek with night vision. He lowered the camera and saw a large mass that peered from behind cover, then returned with lights to find a footprint on the bank and limbs twisted high to clear a view.

Sticks and limbs were thrown at them on a tractor, and whistles answered post-driving. The witness and companion drove up a forest road and found a green tree about thirty feet long knocked across the road with footprints and flattened grass nearby. After whooping, they heard three tree knocks near a parked woman and then a single knock close to themselves. The woman and her husband asked about the noises and left.

Beside the trail one tree was pushed over with its root ball exposed, a sapling was snapped at a right angle and twisted, and another was bent into an arc with its top stuck in the soil. He escaped in his car with damage to the vehicle.

Using his crossbow scope he saw a dark-skinned hand on an oak and then a face peering at him, later stepping into a shooting lane. After he lowered his bow the female left downhill where a loud pop and crashing was heard, and a healthy snapped tree was photographed the next morning.

At age 15 the guest was fishing alone at a creek near his father's house when he heard whoops and saw a large hairy figure behind a sycamore. He confronted it with a .22 rifle, and after it growled and roared he shot it in the throat, then in the hand, then multiple times in the chest as it screamed, broke saplings, and ran straight through a barbed-wire fence across a hay meadow. Later that day his father found broken trees, blood and hair on the sycamore, and blood and hair on the broken fence wires.

Around the second home the witness found toy trucks moved from a lidded sandbox to the steps two mornings, footprints behind the barn, broken trees, newly piled sticks by the pond and a small teepee structure. Later the trampoline was shifted about nine feet back and seven feet sideways, a makeshift clothesline gutter was torn off, a rock was heard flying through trees in daylight, and brief strong skunk-like and dead-meat odors occurred.

The witness was sleeping in a camper parked by the woods on a relative's property when loud breathing and screaming circled the camper for many minutes. The witness's father stepped outside with a flashlight and the sound seemed to come from the woods and echo for miles. Next morning they found a nearby tree branch freshly stripped of bark.

Before the ridge sighting the family had biscuits taken from an oven pan twice when no children were present, and whole hams disappearing from the smokehouse. One late night chickens made a ruckus and a small dog refused to go out. A flashlight search found wide chisel-like scratches on a sassafras tree starting above eight feet and running down to chest level.
