The witness was in bed around 2 a.m. when a powerful stench prompted a look out the bedroom window. A partially cut tree about 100 feet away began to topple, and a camera flash revealed a large brown hunched figure about ten feet from the house, possibly with a second figure near the woodline. The figures left into the woods, and the next day the witness found the tree down with the saw bar displaced and many tracks and cracked walnuts nearby.

The witness had left a truck stuck and flooded in overflow water near a lake in late June 2012. When he returned the next morning with friends to tow it out, they found a large, very fresh footprint about 30 feet from the truck. A couple camping alone in a state forestry heard large movements around camp all evening. Around 2 a.m. the husband saw a tall hair-covered biped beside their SUV and illuminated it before it ran past him over a gate into the woods. Later both heard knocks and rocks striking their tent for about an hour until a large rock tore the tent roof. Next morning they found partial prints and fresh bark damage before leaving.

The witness and a companion were in bed at a rented cabin late at night when their dogs became agitated and then unusually quiet. A companion heard heavy breathing just beside the front door in the dark and noticed a strong musky odor. After preparing a light, they found large wet footprints crossing the porch, and the dogs remained unsettled all night.

The group went to the spot, found flattened brush and a bent-grass trail, estimated the figure's height against the tree, took photos, and then heard knocking beats and hooting sounds after birds flushed and dogs barked in the distance.
