The witness and a relative were fishing on the Flathead River on March 31, 2012. While walking to the outhouse, the witness found a very large barefoot print with a partial second print. The tracks reportedly led from the river's edge up the bank toward the mountain, were photographed, and were estimated at about 14 inches long.

They heard footsteps and loud cracks first mistaken for gunfire and fired weapons toward the sound.
