The witness and family stopped while driving to hike and explore around Brownie Creek. While hiking along the sandy banks, the witness nearly stepped into a very large footprint estimated at 17 inches or more. Family members also saw the print, photos were taken, and the group then continued up the mountain.

The witness was hiking with family to a series of caves in the early afternoon. The witness and a relative each noticed a footprint in moss along the way, about 200 yards from the caves and about 20 feet apart. The witness photographed the prints with a water bottle and foot for scale. No other unusual activity, sounds, or sightings were reported.

Looking in the rearview mirror, they saw a hairy figure peeking from behind a tree about 60 feet away, watching the car, then moving to a second tree before disappearing from view. About 20 minutes later a cow elk walked through the same area, which the witness used to estimate the figure's height at about six feet.

Two people exploring logging roads by jeep stopped to scout a side road on foot. They heard knocking sounds like a stick hitting a tree, then a very loud prolonged cracking like a thick log breaking nearby. They left without seeing any people or vehicles that could explain the noises. A photo taken toward the sounds was later thought to contain something odd but was deemed inconclusive.

On a November afternoon hunt, the witness heard loud yelling mixed with growls and screams nearby and recorded trees breaking and heavy pounding footsteps approaching. Deer in the area fled as the sounds got closer, and the witness left quickly. Cattle in a nearby pasture were later seen huddled far from the sounds.

On the morning of January 22, 2012, the witness looked out at melting snow in the backyard and noticed an unusual straight-line series of marks distinct from ATV tracks and family footprints. The marks ran directly from tree to tree and then toward the property line, with no clear origin behind the property. The witness photographed the trackway and measured consistent long intervals between steps.

While working as night watchmen at a logging site, the female witness walked back from checking equipment at dusk and heard a snorkeling sound by the creek. She saw a large fur-covered creature on its knees drinking, which then stood up very tall and stepped over a stump. She ran screaming toward the trailer while the creature also screamed, and her companion heard it screaming and breaking trees as it moved away.

While elk hunting on a ridge, the witness found large tracks in patches of snow and photographed them. Shortly after taking the photos, a rock was thrown from about 150 meters away and dislodged other rocks downslope. He glassed the direction with binoculars, saw only an indentation in the rocks, then left the mountain quickly feeling uneasy.
