Possible snow tracks found outside Windsor
The witness reported large footprints in a light dusting of snow near the family home. A relative photographed one of several prints arranged in a row before they melted by midday. An investigator later reviewed the photos as inconclusive and visited the site to assess the nearby river corridor as cover for travel.
Hiking family finds possible track off trail outside Estes Park
A family of four was hiking and identifying animal tracks in a forested mountain area when the husband found a single large footprint off the trail. The print was about 13.5 to 14 inches long and about half an inch deep, with possible toe impressions, and crossed perpendicular to the trail. The husband could not leave a comparable impression in the same vicinity. The family photographed the print with a boot for scale, felt uneasy, and continued on without seeing or hearing anything that could have made it.
Two brothers witness an upright creature while at a cabin near Red Feather
Two people staying at a mountain cabin watched a large black upright animal move from near a river across a road and uphill toward an aspen grove over about two minutes, using binoculars for part of the observation. The animal turned toward a passing truck, then moved away with longer strides while looking back. Afterwards the witnesses went to the grove and found and measured a large five-toed footprint, but snow prevented further tracking.
Future doctor sees giant tracks high in Rawah wilderness
In summer 1971 the witness and two companions found about a dozen very large human-like footprints crossing remaining snow patches in a high alpine meadow in a Colorado wilderness area. The prints were described as well-detailed, much larger than a large human foot with a stride of four feet or more, and were judged not to be bear tracks, with no prints visible on firm ground between snow patches. The witness noted possible enlargement by summer melt and refreeze and considered a hoax unlikely due to remoteness, and left the area frightened.
