Two brothers witness an upright creature while at a cabin near Red Feather

Two people staying at a mountain cabin watched a large black upright animal move from near a river across a road and uphill toward an aspen grove over about two minutes, using binoculars for part of the observation. The animal turned toward a passing truck, then moved away with longer strides while looking back. Afterwards the witnesses went to the grove and found and measured a large five-toed footprint, but snow prevented further tracking.

One good five-toed footprint found in aspen grove and measured with yardstick
Measurements: 16 to 17 inches long, 6.5 inches wide; stride 6 to 7 ft apart
Two investigators visited the area 18 days later, measured the distance to the grove and searched for several hours without finding footprints, hair or other sign.
