The witness and two companions were relaxing in an outdoor hot tub at a vacation cabin near Gatlinburg when the woods went silent and tree movement was heard. The witness noticed a motionless black shape resembling a gorilla's head and shoulders in sunlit brush about 100 yards away and watched it for several minutes. After briefly looking away at the cabin wall, he found the shape gone, and shortly after heard trees cracking. He watched for about ten more minutes without seeing anything further.

The witness was hiking with an expedition group near an old building and went behind it to look for sign. About 50 yards away the witness saw a dark shape that resolved into a face with heavy brow, broad nose, dark hair and dark eyes that turned to the side and back before disappearing. Afterward the witness heard whistles and a low guttural sound, felt unwelcome and unwell, waited, then later sketched what was seen.

Late at night the witness was gaming at home when she heard a deep growl that grew louder and shifted into a loud distressed bellowing outside her office window. She looked toward the window and saw a pair of yellow-green luminous eyes watching her for a few seconds before they turned and moved away. She initially thought the eyes might be human but concluded they were not, and the next day found no tracks beneath the window.

Around 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 25, 2017, the witness and a companion were driving in a loud diesel truck toward a deer blind. They heard several very loud wooo sounds from woods estimated at 200 to 250 yards away, audible over the engine. They stopped briefly to listen, then drove on and shined lights into the woods without seeing or hearing anything further.

Off a creek-side trail they found a single large bare footprint that was larger than the reporter's shoe and did not replicate under his weight. The witness reports hearing repeated knocking sounds at night over multiple seasons from spring 2013 through spring 2014. The knocks reportedly occurred in the evening, about a minute apart, lasting 30 minutes to a couple hours, with nothing seen. The witness and a companion were camping overnight along a river at around 2 a.m. under a full moon. They heard dogs barking across the river, then a loud deep howl lasting nearly ten seconds. Afterwards all animal sounds stopped and remained silent for hours, and the howl was not heard again.

The witness returned to the campground with a companion and camped overnight. After turning in for the night, while drifting in and out of sleep in his tent, he heard two wood knocks from the east and a few minutes later one wood knock from the west. A group visiting a remote cemetery heard an extremely loud, unearthly yell-like sound coming from about 1000 yards away past a fallen tree across Sugar Creek. The witnesses said it was not a known farm animal and captured it on a camcorder, though quieter on playback. They also noticed a dank, musty odor on the breeze apparently coming from the direction of the sound.
