Mescalero Reservation resident sees silhouetted figure swaying at window, large footprints outside house
The witness was awake in a ground-floor bedroom late at night when she heard heavy breathing and something striking the outside wall. A large dark silhouette appeared at the closed bedroom window, swaying as if trying to see inside, and remained for several minutes despite the TV volume being raised. The next morning she and her daughter found large five-toed footprints in snow by the walkway.
Unusual howls recorded in the Black Hills southwest of Rapid City
The witness returned home in the evening and heard an unfamiliar ululating howling sound with an echo off a nearby cliff. The witness recorded about 4.5 minutes of the sound. With decades of outdoor experience, the witness did not recognize it as any known local animal and noted dogs reacted negatively.
Two hikers see an upright ape running off into the brush in Apalachicola National Forest
Two companions hiking in Apalachicola National Forest stopped at a shallow brook to cool off. After leaving the water they heard rocks colliding and sticks breaking and went to investigate. They glimpsed an ape-like biped charging away through thick brush, breaking limbs and leaving a foul odor. Afterwards they noted disturbed rocks and a partial heel print that later dried out and was not photographed.
Strange sounds heard in winter
The witness claims to hear a crushing sound on ice-covered snow near home for at least five straight nights. Each evening for about two minutes they also hear heavy pounding and screaming from an unknown direction within about two miles. A dead-carcass-like smell sometimes accompanies the sounds.
Possible vocalizations heard by resident outside Verlot
The witness was at home in the evening when barking dogs drew him outside onto the porch. From a distance he heard loud repeated vocalizations that began low and rose to a scream, apparently moving west past his location and then back south before fading after about five minutes. He described the sound as unlike any animal he knew from hunting experience and later felt it matched an archival scream recording except for a lower start.
Late night Winter sighting by pedestrian along W. Nifong Blvd. in Columbia
The witness was walking along a roadside in Columbia, Missouri around 1:30 a.m. when a large bipedal creature paralleled him from behind a tree line. He stopped to face it and described a tall dark-haired figure with a cone-shaped head that emitted a low growl. After he looked away and kept walking, the creature followed briefly then disappeared.
Camper Awakened by Loud Wood Knocks in Talladega National Forrest
The witness was camping overnight with a scout group on a very cold, windy night when extremely loud wood-on-wood knocks were heard from north of camp. The sounds came as three pairs of knocks and were heard clearly over the wind, with no other campers in that direction. Two other adults were also awakened and the group could not agree on a natural explanation. The witness did not investigate that night because of the weather and concern about frightening the children.
Witness has unusual experience in area of the Great Dismal Swamp
A couple sitting on a bench along a trail heard bipedal footsteps moving through dense brush across a canal, followed by chattering or popping sounds from two directions. After the witness knocked a branch against a post, a similar sound came from deeper in the woods. As they left near sunset without ever seeing the source, they heard a short loud scream described as between a whoop and a woman's scream.
Camper hears "conversation" along Elk River
While camping along Elk River, the witness sat at a picnic table reading by lamplight at night and heard a strange yell-like call never heard before. The witness perceived calls coming from opposite sides of the river as if sources were responding to each other. After listening for several minutes, the witness got into a truck feeling scared.
Sasquatch sighting in Kandahar (2008)
At about 4:30 a.m. in the Kandahar mountains, twelve service members saw a silhouette eight to nine feet tall with matted grayish-brown fur and a large forehead. It whooped, yelled and growled while throwing baseball-sized or larger rocks that did not stop, with other similar voices answering nearby. Locals later said such beings live in mountain caves and are treated as spirits or guardians.
Footsteps in Idaho (2008)
The witness went to bed in a small dome tent while camping with sisters across the meadow. Something massive moved fast through brush to the head of the tent, stopped on two legs, and made loud guttural breathing like a growl-breath mixture. After a long frozen period it moved away, and the witness left at daylight.
Rock throwing near Humboldt County (2008)
During early visits to a large remote property starting around 2008, the witness heard rock throwing and whistles. Over years living there she continued hearing whoops, tree knocks, chimp-like chatter late at night with windows open, and animals getting in the trash.
Paranormal encounter near Monument Valley, Utah (2008)
A group of seven hiked at night in summer near Monument Valley and heard vocalizations and saw large amber eyes. The witness approached to within tens of yards and saw a wide red-haired biped swaying and making a strange growling noise. The group continued and was stalked for hours until the smallest member was rushed by something on all fours, after which the witnesses hit a wall of strong odor near an extremely steep hill.
Wood knock near Potosi, Missouri (2008)
At dusk on a ridge the guest and [name withheld] heard wood knocks from three downhill directions around them with pauses, before a thunderstorm forced them to leave without pitching the tent.
Sasquatch sighting in Washington (2008)
The next night the witness and a companion with night-vision binoculars waited at the same campsite. The paired orange and green eyes reappeared and approached as before. When the companion activated the infrared illuminator, five heavy creatures were heard running away in different directions, shaking the ground, and the area felt suddenly empty.
Vocalization in Washington (2008)
A group returning from a night walk reported two owl-like callers following them for half a mile on opposite sides of the road. As they neared camp others could hear the calls, which included atypical chatter at the end. The witnesses noted owls do not normally follow people.
Scream near Watertown, New York (2008)
The guest was camping with family in a small cabin north of Watertown. Shortly after midnight she heard a loud woman-like scream that caused intense fear. A few hours later she and her then-husband were awakened by the same sound, and her father-in-law had also heard the first scream. They could not identify it as any known animal and later joked it was Bigfoot.
Footsteps in Indiana (2008)
The witness was in a tree stand at dawn while his former spouse waited in a blind behind him. After deer calls he heard splashing through the swamp and rustling in a thicket, then heard objects hit the ground and roll past twice. The woods went eerily calm, and he later moved his stand and never returned to that spot.
Sasquatch sighting near Pine Hall, North Carolina (2008)
In 2008 at dusk, two friends on dirt bikes watched a brownish-haired creature cross a twelve-foot road in one stride near Pine Hall, with its head visible over a seven-and-a-half-foot tree. They later found footprints, heard howls and tree knocks, and felt watched in the same area.
Wood knock near Clay County (2008)
The witness says around 2008 while spending time in his backyard he heard tree knocks. He dismissed them as someone knocking wood in the woods and thought no more about it. The knocks continued for a while.
