The witness went with friends to a Revolutionary War cemetery in a state forest on Halloween night to look for ghosts. He shone a flashlight to the tree line and saw yellow eyes and the outline of a tall figure that turned and walked into a tree and vanished. When he moved closer the creature stepped back out of the same tree and faced him for two to three minutes in complete silence. When his friends approached the creature vanished and the group ran to the car hearing loud footsteps behind them.

They knocked back on a tree, continuing the exchange for about an hour while the source sounded closer. They then heard snapping sounds described as like trees exploding under pressure, got into their vehicle, and left.

Three people camping overnight near a creek reported prolonged howling in the evening and a close loud scream during the night. Through the night they heard movement around the tents, sticks hitting trees, branches breaking, and had objects disturbed including a tent stake pulled out. They also reported white eyeshine, a pungent odor, a dark figure seen in the treeline after daylight, and footprints and torn branches found in the morning.

Hours later a loud high-pitched scream was heard that the witness did not recognize, and a next-day search found no clear footprints due to heavy leaf cover.

While scouting and then deer hunting near a river over several weeks, the witness reports a persistent foul odor, sounds of being followed, and repeated loud wood knocks. The witness found single very large deeply impressed tracks on two occasions, plus stick formations, flattened vegetation, long strides in leaves, and animal remains including hide on a high limb and a bloody disturbed area. A wildlife biologist viewed the first track but considered it contaminated, and later investigators visiting the site found no tracks or signs.

The witness and a companion drove to a landing before sunrise to deer hunt and stood quietly apart. They heard a short low-to-high 'wwooot' sound from the woods behind them, then about fifteen seconds later heard the same sound longer and much louder. They heard nothing further and drove on up the hill.

The witnesses were preparing fishing gear when they noticed a strong foul smell and heard repeated banging like sticks or rocks struck together. A loud scream was heard shortly afterward from the far end of the woods, after which he remained in the stand for about an hour before leaving.

The witness woke a brother who briefly listened, and the next morning the group found no deer, elk or cattle in the immediate area.

The witness was hiking alone in dense forest in the late afternoon when the woods fell silent. He heard rustling and grunting and saw a tall hair-covered creature standing near a tree about 50 yards away, then saw it again about 20 to 30 yards away while walking back. He left the area without using the firearm he was carrying and later told a relative what he had seen.

Late at night the witness was summoned to the back porch by a relative and shone a spotlight toward a large oak about 30 yards away. A tall hair-covered upright figure stood partly behind the tree, repeatedly peeking out as the light moved, then stepped fully into view facing them before retreating behind the tree and fleeing through the woods. The next morning the witness found two large footprints behind the tree and another unclear print nearby.
