After a companion fell asleep, the witness decided to walk home late at night along a road bordered by young planted trees. Something in the trees paced him from the side, stopping when he stopped and continuing when he walked. When he tried to look larger and shouted, he heard deep grunts and saw two small trees shake vigorously. He called a nearby friend for a ride and kept shouting until he was picked up.

Four friends camped overnight near a river. After a distant yelp, a companion reported seeing a large shape by the river that could not be made out in the dark. Later the two awake witnesses heard a loud knock on a tree near camp and then bipedal footsteps circling the tent, including contact brushing the tent, before the sounds moved away. A daylight check found no tracks.

A family camped at Salmon Meadows near Conconully heard repeated strange howl-like yells from the creek bed below their site in the late afternoon. After going to investigate and finding a young cow near a cattle guard, they heard howls again overnight and in the early morning. The witness camped alone on the east side of a small lake after hiking in about three miles. Around 1 a.m. while stoking his campfire he heard loud wood knocks approaching from the hill and loud vocalizations from the opposite shore about 100 yards away. The source also threw sticks toward his camp. After he fired a rifle shot into the air the sounds stopped, and he remained at camp until the next afternoon before hiking out.

The witness was alone fishing and camping by a lake and creek. After noticing a foul litter-like odor, the witness heard a loud knock, whistles, and rustling, then had large rocks repeatedly thrown toward camp. After hearing an extremely loud angry whoop, the witness fled by car while loud noises moved through brush alongside the road.

The witness and a companion were clearing branches in a logged area behind the house when they found rock piles and ten small grass bundles containing field mice. The dogs became agitated and a thrown rock struck the witness's hand. No animal was seen, but wood-on-wood knocking was heard several times over the next few hours.

The witness was hiking with a dog toward Wallace Lake when both stopped after hearing a loud human-like yell from across a marshy bog. The witness claims a family group has visited a rural wooded property regularly for nearly two years, typically evenings to early mornings several times a week. Reported activity includes footprints, wood knocks, odors, vocalizations, trail and structure formation, and direct sightings with food exchange and close interactions. An investigator visited the densely brushed property, observed extensive trails and shelter-like spots, and interviewed the household about four to five individuals of different sizes.

The witness was at home in Rainier, Washington, playing video games when unknown loud calls, cries and hoots were heard on several nights in early February 2011. Some sounds were recorded on a cell phone and a webcam left running overnight and later posted online, with relatives also hearing them. The witness described one close cry and later hoots suggesting two individuals calling to each other. An investigator later had the audio compared to suspected vocalizations and visited the surrounding woods.

The witness heard loud crashing and branch-breaking as a large unseen animal ran down the opposite slope, chased a deer, and killed it after the deer cried out three times. The witness could not cross the creek to investigate and later left, having earlier photographed a 20-foot tree found jammed upside-down in the ground.

The witness parked to check two close trail cameras and felt strong pressure and dread. After hearing twig snaps and a huffing exhale, the witness looked up to see a tall black bushy figure about 20 yards away by a tree. It ducked to a squat and shuffled quickly as the witness armed the camera and ran to the road, then drove home shaken.

The witness hiked a loop trail near Lake Cushman with three family members in late morning. The group heard a mournful 8-10 second howl/groan and about 30 minutes later encountered a strong skunk- and ammonia-like odor near a creek bridge on both sides of the trail. They also noticed unusual uprooted mushrooms along the trail. No creature was seen.

The witness and a companion were hunting at the end of a ridge-top logging road and split up to glass opposite slopes. The witness smelled a rotten odor and heard crashing below, then saw a dark head, shoulders and upper back moving downhill upright for a few seconds before losing sight of it while still hearing movement. Visibility worsened with rain and low clouds and both soon left, with the witness not telling the companion at the time.

The witness was hiking alone and sitting on a bluff when he heard heavy thudding sounds like footsteps, followed by rock-clacking sounds from brush about 40-50 yards away. He exchanged rock bangs with the unseen source for about 10-15 minutes, with it mimicking the number of bangs he made. He became frightened as it got dark and returned to camp without seeing the source.

The witness was hunting elk with a muzzleloader several miles north of a ski area as snow began to fall. From a small canyon he heard chimp-like huffing and chattering that seemed to come from three individuals on both sides of the ravine. He tried to see the sources as the sounds kept moving ahead with him but saw nothing, then returned to camp as the storm worsened and daylight faded.

The witness and his wife arrived at their weekend cabin in the evening and noticed a strong musky skunk-like odor outside. About an hour later the witness was outside with the dog and heard three loud whoop-like calls from the woods east of the property. The witness and a companion were camping in separate tents with a dog when loud repeated whooping vocalizations woke them around 1 a.m. and continued for about 2.5 to 3 hours. The dog remained agitated and on alert all night while the witness stayed awake fearing the source might approach. In the morning the witness, companion, and other campers discussed the sounds, and the witness concluded they matched sasquatch whoops heard on recordings.
Possible nighttime encounter while camping at Shi Shi Beach
Three backpackers sleeping on a beach woke around 3:45 a.m. when their dog ran to a nearby ridge and grappled with something. The witness ran over and saw an enormous figure in the dark that stayed silent when challenged. A companion later saw a torso-like figure put a hand on a rock at the top of the ridge and disappear, and reported an elk-like moaning sound during the struggle.
