Camper has possible early evening sighting in Beaver Creek State Park
In June 2008 the witness was camping and stepped into the woods behind the campsite in the early evening. After hearing a loud crash, the witness saw a dark muscular human-like figure moving quickly through brush toward a ravine about 20-30 feet away. The two companions did not see the figure, and no tracks or other sign were found the next morning.

A group visiting a remote cemetery heard an extremely loud, unearthly yell-like sound coming from about 1000 yards away past a fallen tree across Sugar Creek. The witnesses said it was not a known farm animal and captured it on a camcorder, though quieter on playback. The witness was at his ranch at night when dogs barked repeatedly from about 1:30 to 4:30 a.m. He went outside around 3 a.m. and heard repeated drawn-out howl-like calls. A second witness later described hearing the same 7-8 second howl repeated three times.

The witness was awakened in the early morning by the dog wanting to go outside. When the kitchen door was opened the dog immediately retreated back inside without making a sound. The witness then heard an unfamiliar howl from the doorway that caused chills, with no other unusual observations.

The witness walked alone around Oxbow Lake to watch birds and noticed complete silence of wildlife and a strong musky odor. A live tree fell nearby despite no wind, and the witness felt watched. While returning toward the car, the witness heard several loud howls from across the lake and then left.

While packing up, the atmosphere changed and the medium underwent a violent apparent possession with inhuman noises. The witness and spouse were sleeping in a family tent in a campground late at night when both awoke to loud footsteps and breaking branches. Something entered their site, brushed against the tent, and moved to mushrooms at the site edge while they shone a flashlight but saw nothing. After a quiet period it left the way it came, and in the morning the mushrooms were gone. The witness doubted bear, moose, or human explanations based on stride, sound, and lack of reaction to light and noise.

The witness was walking on a dirt road in the evening when a gray-brown figure was seen standing between bushes at a distance. After the witness spoke, the figure made a loud grunt, then turned toward a second grunt heard deeper in the forest and walked away. The witness ran back to a relative, and a next-day visit found a broken branch and flattened vegetation but no footprints.

The witness and a friend split up to scout for turkeys on the grandfather's ranch in the afternoon. The witness walked a ridge into the wind and surprised a large hairy creature bedded 8-10 feet away. The creature emitted a loud whoop and force that froze the witness, then slid rapidly down the rocky ridge using trees, stood, bared its teeth, and left silently. The witness fled cross-country to a road and later returned to the house where the grandfather had fired signal shots.

The figure watched them for several minutes, moved away, then reappeared to peek briefly several more times over about 15 minutes. A couple arriving at their cabin heard distant, deep vocalizations lasting about five minutes. The sounds were described as long, low-pitched roar-like screams with a growly tone that dropped lower in pitch. Their dogs became clingy and whined, and were brought inside. The husband first suggested elk or coyote but concluded the depth and duration were not human or known animal.

The witness was alone target shooting on an abandoned strip mine in the late afternoon. After emptying a magazine he heard extremely loud knocking sounds coming from downhill. He listened for a couple of minutes and then left the area without searching because of the volume and being alone.

The witness was walking dogs outside the home before dawn when she noticed a very large hair-covered biped in the street. The creature repeatedly moved quickly closer when she looked away and froze when she looked back, approaching from about 200 feet to near the house. She hurried the dogs inside, heard barking and saw the motion light activate, then remained inside afraid.

The witness was awake in a ground-floor bedroom late at night when she heard heavy breathing and something striking the outside wall. A large dark silhouette appeared at the closed bedroom window, swaying as if trying to see inside, and remained for several minutes despite the TV volume being raised. The next morning she and her daughter found large five-toed footprints in snow by the walkway.

The witness returned home in the evening and heard an unfamiliar ululating howling sound with an echo off a nearby cliff. The witness recorded about 4.5 minutes of the sound. With decades of outdoor experience, the witness did not recognize it as any known local animal and noted dogs reacted negatively.
Two hikers see an upright ape running off into the brush in Apalachicola National Forest
Two companions hiking in Apalachicola National Forest stopped at a shallow brook to cool off. After leaving the water they heard rocks colliding and sticks breaking and went to investigate. They glimpsed an ape-like biped charging away through thick brush, breaking limbs and leaving a foul odor. Afterwards they noted disturbed rocks and a partial heel print that later dried out and was not photographed.

The witness was at home in the evening when barking dogs drew him outside onto the porch. From a distance he heard loud repeated vocalizations that began low and rose to a scream, apparently moving west past his location and then back south before fading after about five minutes. He described the sound as unlike any animal he knew from hunting experience and later felt it matched an archival scream recording except for a lower start.

The witness was walking along a roadside in Columbia, Missouri around 1:30 a.m. when a large bipedal creature paralleled him from behind a tree line. He stopped to face it and described a tall dark-haired figure with a cone-shaped head that emitted a low growl. After he looked away and kept walking, the creature followed briefly then disappeared.
Camper Awakened by Loud Wood Knocks in Talladega National Forrest
The witness was camping overnight with a scout group on a very cold, windy night when extremely loud wood-on-wood knocks were heard from north of camp. The sounds came as three pairs of knocks and were heard clearly over the wind, with no other campers in that direction. Two other adults were also awakened and the group could not agree on a natural explanation. The witness did not investigate that night because of the weather and concern about frightening the children.
