The witness was deer hunting in a valley at dawn when a loud scream was heard nearby. The yell was loud enough to startle turkeys roosting overhead. Looking toward the sound, the witness saw a tall black animal about 70 yards away that then disappeared.

The witness was deer hunting from an elevated stand near a pond late in the day. They spotted an upright, hair-covered figure by a cedar tree and watched it through a rifle scope for under a minute. The witness could not cross the creek to investigate and later left, having earlier photographed a 20-foot tree found jammed upside-down in the ground.

The witness and his son were deer hunting from a blind in darkness before dawn. After the son woke the sleeping witness, they heard something large moving fast through brush behind the blind. It screamed, stomped hard enough to shake the ground, snapped limbs, and grunted and growled before leaving quickly. The pair then left the area immediately.

After hearing twig snaps and a huffing exhale, the witness looked up to see a tall black bushy figure about 20 yards away by a tree. On the morning of 2 Nov 2010 the witness, a companion, and an investigator were in heavily wooded preserve land by a cemetery looking at tree structures when sirens sounded. They distinguished a different howl-like sound about 200 to 300 yards to the north, heard three times in total. The sound was captured on audio and a segment was later isolated. No creature was seen.

The witness and two companions hiked into rugged forest to camp overnight for turkey hunting. Late at night they heard a prolonged unfamiliar howl, and a few hours later heard slow heavy footsteps approach within feet of their tent before withdrawing when spoken to. The next morning they found a large scat pile uphill and then left the area.

The witness was hunting rabbits near a small pond on the property and had just shot a rabbit. A large black hairy figure standing a short distance beyond the rabbit fled rapidly downhill through the woods, making loud noise. The witness retrieved the rabbit and returned to the house, avoiding the area for months.

The witness walked through the woods to his deer blind for a late hunt and smelled a foul odor. He saw a large hairy creature with its head in the blind, which stood up and faced him for about 10-15 seconds. The witness hiked a loop trail near Lake Cushman with three family members in late morning. The group heard a mournful 8-10 second howl/groan and about 30 minutes later encountered a strong skunk- and ammonia-like odor near a creek bridge on both sides of the trail. They also noticed unusual uprooted mushrooms along the trail. No creature was seen.

After hearing something large run off unseen, they found a single fresh human-like barefoot print in mud beside a puddle. They photographed the print and marked the spot, and also noted distant squirrel alarm calls that moved closer then fell silent.

The witness was deer hunting from a tree stand when a strong foul odor drifted from upwind and appeared to move past him, from the river bottom behind him toward the ridge top, without any source being seen. Roughly an hour later he heard paired thudding sounds like logs or a log hitting a tree, which repeated again after about another hour from the same location. The woods around his stand were unusually quiet, while his companion farther upstream reported normal wildlife activity.

The witness left a cabin on foot to photograph the lake and fall colors. While walking back toward the cabin he heard loud, rhythmic wood-on-wood knocks coming from a wooded, hilly area. The knocks stopped when he stopped to look and resumed briefly when he walked again. He saw no source, noted no odor, and heard no other vocalizations.

A bicyclist riding home late at night heard a noise by a dumpster behind a shed and saw a short stocky dark bipedal figure. The figure turned and walked into thin woods toward a cornfield, and the rider fled home to tell a companion. The companion checked the site minutes later but found only a trapped raccoon in the dumpster.

The witness and a companion were hunting at the end of a ridge-top logging road and split up to glass opposite slopes. The witness smelled a rotten odor and heard crashing below, then saw a dark head, shoulders and upper back moving downhill upright for a few seconds before losing sight of it while still hearing movement. Visibility worsened with rain and low clouds and both soon left, with the witness not telling the companion at the time.

The witness and a female companion were hiking in a wooded area in the morning when they heard very loud rustling like a small tree being shaken, followed by a long low howl, growls, grunts, snorts and squeals. The same sequence repeated a couple minutes later. They did not see what made the sounds and left within minutes.

The witness was doing senior photos at a lake with two companions when rocks were repeatedly thrown into the water from across the lake, accompanied by tree knocks and limb breaking. The group took burst photos toward the sounds and then left the area. At home the witness found what he believed to be a black orangutan-faced figure holding a white object in two of the photos, plus a possible smaller shape in a tree.

The witness was bow hunting alone from a tree stand at Camp Robinson in October 2010. After dark he heard a very loud, deep, gravelly growl/yell from an estimated 150-200 yards away, then heard it again closer while walking out. He left quickly without seeing the source and later could not match the sound to known animal recordings.

The witness stayed with his young son on a multi-day group expedition and went to check a camera trap in the morning. The son ran ahead, collapsed and became unresponsive while the witness felt nausea, loss of focus, and a deep vibrational sound. The witness then saw a large dark hairy figure, fired shots to drive it off, heard it scream and get answered, and evacuated the son for medical care.

The witness and three friends went ghost hunting at a remote cemetery in a forest late at night. After hearing grunting and footsteps paralleling them on a footpath, the friends fled while the witness turned to face a very tall dark figure swaying side to side that changed expression on eye contact and huffed, exposing a foul breath odor. When a friend shouted his name, the figure leapt away, and the witness ran to the car.
