Campers experience strange events in Ramsey's Draft Wilderness Area
A group was camped in a forested valley and spent the afternoon and night sitting and talking. They heard knocks from a nearby ridge followed by small rocks thrown toward camp, some hitting a tent. A deer came within about ten feet of the group in the evening and remained nearby all night, at times appearing alert toward the woods. The group did not report seeing a creature.

The investigator describes a 2000 case near Smith Mountain Lake involving a family experiencing poltergeist activity, orbs in the hallway, triangular UFOs and lights in the woods, crop circles, and woman-like screams. Investigators camped on the property, noted abundant quartz crystal, and collected crop samples for analysis. The family eventually moved away and the investigation was discontinued without identifying a cause.

Over about 30 minutes the witness heard about five loud, strange howls from a distance that varied in pitch, intensity, and apparent location, with two seeming closer. An adult female-like creature and a smaller juvenile emerged on all fours, then the adult stood, vocalized, and left with the juvenile after a distant reply was heard. As they walked toward the sound, they heard crashing and saw a large, hunched, hairy human-like figure run past about 10 feet away down the mountainside. A large college group camped late at night in a remote, densely wooded rocky area. After midnight they heard large rocks being thrown into and around a nearby stream and loud wailing, howling and grunting sounds that grew closer when the camp was loud and receded when quiet. After confirming all members were present, most of the group left early while about 10-15 stayed quietly until dawn as the sounds grew more distant.

After a loud crash from a tree, something bipedal circled them making growling sounds and then gave a loud roar they could feel. It stepped into the spotlight as a massive white figure, climbed a bank in three steps and rushed their truck before they fled, later returning in daylight to find impressions on the bank.

The witness was deer hunting from a tree stand before dawn when an extremely loud roar that rose into a piercing scream sounded directly underneath the stand. The witness remained still until daylight, hearing no movement despite very dry leaves, and saw nothing. After daylight the witness found no tracks, spoor, or hair in the area.

Two people camped in a remote, heavily forested area heard prolonged, loud howls from a nearby ridge, along with heavy footsteps and crashing through brush. After briefly walking up the road to listen, they felt the source paced them and then moved closer downhill toward them. They returned to camp, kept the fire built up, and continued hearing sporadic howls and movement until they fell asleep after midnight.

The witness and a companion were sleeping in their truck at a forest camp late at night when a large bipedal shape walked past and went to trash bags hung high in a tree. The shape reached up, carried one bag into the woods where tearing and eating sounds were heard, then returned about half an hour later to take a second bag. The pair remained in the truck, then packed up and left to spend the rest of the night elsewhere.

A teenager staying alone at a remote hunting cabin after companions left and did not return spent nights unsettled by a wet-animal odor and a feeling of being watched. While sleeping outside by a fire pit, the fire died low and a large unseen presence approached, producing deep growls, snot-blowing sounds, stomping that vibrated the ground, and a pair of very high, widely spaced, bright red glowing eyes. The witness remained still praying until morning, when the presence was gone, and later told companions who laughed.

Youth catches standing figure in flashlight glow during camp-out
Around May 1970 the witness was camping with family at a lakeside campground and lay awake in a tent near midnight. After hearing trash being disturbed, the witness stepped out barefoot with a flashlight and saw a small upright furry creature looking into a hanging trash bag. The creature turned, made a squeal-grunt cry, and dashed away while the witness ran shouting to wake relatives. No tracks were found afterward because the area was trampled.
