The witness was alone hunting deer from an elevated stand before sunrise when a strong musty odor grew stronger. He then noticed a tall, hairy biped partly concealed behind a large tree about 25 yards away, swaying from side to side and making short low grunts. After he glanced away to reach for his scoped gun he heard it moving through the woods, and when he looked back it had disappeared.

The witness reported being on Pigeon Mountain on the night of September 27, 2011, when he heard a deep growl followed by a long mellow scream unlike familiar local animals. The witness was driving a truck on I-75 at dusk in fog when a tall dark bipedal creature crossed the highway ahead from forest toward an orchard, covering the lanes in a few long strides and clearing the median and a fence. After pulling over, the witness shone a spotlight into the area, saw red-orange eyeshine for several seconds and heard a low grunt before leaving.

Around 2 a.m. in late August 2011, the witness stepped onto his mother's back deck in Paulding County, Georgia to smoke. From the woods behind the house he heard a loud, deep howl repeated several times over about five minutes. Unable to match it to known wildlife or other sources, he went inside frightened and later found online howl recordings he felt matched what he heard.

While walking on a road at night he heard branches breaking and a loud vocalization, then saw a very large dark fur-covered shape between trees on a rock face. The witness was supervising a crew clearing brush under a highway bridge in the morning. The group noticed a strange odor, heard persistent movement and muffled grunts, and watched something peeping from behind a tree. Later a skinned rabbit hung high in a tree disappeared, bare footprints larger than the workers feet were found in mud by a creek, and loud limb-breaking sounds caused the whole crew to flee.

A large hairy creature with reddish-brown hair was partly visible behind the kennel, showing part of its head and a long arm. The witness estimated it was about 7 feet tall because it stood taller than the kennel, then heard landing thumps and ran back inside.

Two weeks after his friend's incident, the guest remained on his tree stand past dark and walked out alone after his flashlight failed. Something in brush to his left paced him and took an extra step each time he stopped. He drew his revolver and was followed for about half an hour, after which he never returned alone.

The guest with his wife and a friend stopped by a creek at the edge of the woods. As he stepped off the four-wheeler, something gave a very loud scream that felt in the chest. They immediately left the area.

Late at night the witness and a relative were indoors when they heard monkey-like hooting at the window and noticed vegetation moving outside. The relative went outside with a firearm and saw further movement near the end of the house while the witness heard grunting sounds near another window. The household dog ran to the relative but then whimpered, backed away, and refused to approach the side of the house. After a quiet interval, the two heard only distant noises when they went out again at midnight.

The witness reports walking home alone at night on a rural dirt road when she startled a large creature near a shed. She heard a loud deep breath and grunt and felt the ground shake as the dark, muscular figure rose into a crouched gorilla-like posture about 20 feet away. The figure stared and turned its head to watch her as she moved to the far side of the road and walked quickly home while praying without running.

Late at night the witness stepped onto the porch for a smoke and heard an unfamiliar terrifying vocalization. Shining a light, the witness saw the silhouette of a tall bipedal figure near the pond that stood up and ran off, with vocalizations continuing fainter into the distance. A relative living in the house came outside and heard the final vocalization and a distant gunshot, and another relative later arrived to find the area empty.
