The guest's two adult daughters were camping with seven others in the Coast Range. A whoop-like call was directed at their camp for about two hours the first night. It returned the second night for about 20 minutes until someone shouted at it and it stopped.

The guest camped several days alone with his dog, noticing hairy scat, twisted saplings forming a gate, and feeling watched. On the third night the forest went silent, footsteps approached, loud breathing and an ape-like vocalization occurred outside the tent, followed by exchanged fake owl sounds and a spinning yin-yang light with a brief vision inside the tent. In the morning disturbed dog food was attributed to a raccoon.

He smelled a strong odor, heard movement, then entered a clearing where a large figure stood, grunted, touched his chest, looked him over, then walked past behind him. The witness, a college volunteer helping with a search-and-rescue in heavy snow, hiked with two companions to a small work cabin atop Mount Macon and spent the night there. During the night something screamed and howled outside and repeatedly struck the heavy door and walls, terrifying the three men inside. By morning it was gone, leaving large indistinct impressions in the snow leading up to the cabin, after which the group hiked out.

The guest, then 11, and an older friend were playing Airsoft in woods near his house. The friend pointed out a brown furry form crouched on a ridge watching them. After the guest whistled it stood to about eight feet, made a gruff noise, looked at them, then turned and walked over the ridge.

The guest was part of a small team doing nighttime map-and-compass navigation over several nights with no weapons. Team members repeatedly felt followed, heard high-pitched screams and footstep echoes that stopped and started with them, and noted the follower moved far more gracefully than they could. The guest came to believe the follower could not have been a person moving that smoothly in the forest.

The witness climbed about 20-25 feet up a pine on a small peninsula to wait for hogs over bait at dawn. He watched a large dark female figure stalk tree to tree toward the hogs, then leap, scream, knock a hog into an oak and kill it by pounding its side. The creature carried the hog off, exchanged calls with another unseen creature, then scented, located and stared up at the witness before walking away.

After relocating south, the witness was awakened in the early morning by a dog and heard two loud roars outside. The sounds coincided with a nearby equestrian event that drew many horses. The witness wonders if the sounds could have come from a large unknown animal.

The witness, a long-haul driver on a first solo delivery run, parked overnight at a brake-check pull-off. After stepping out to urinate and returning to the cab, a large tawny creature rose from behind a dumpster and stared from a few feet away, making aggressive faces and growling sounds. A second female-looking creature carrying small animals then emerged without acknowledging the witness, after which both left quickly and the witness drove away.

Alone awake late at night the witness twice heard a very loud distant then nearby sound that began as a low roar and morphed into a long howl. The sound felt physically overwhelming and caused shaking, tears and a sense of helplessness. Afraid to look out the dark window, the witness got into bed and stayed alert without further sound, later feeling a documentary recording called the Ohio howl closely matched it.

A visiting friend stood on the front porch and watched something large move through the surrounding corn toward him, judged by corn movement as elephant-sized. About ten feet from the edge it stopped, made a huffing sound like heavy breathing and a grunt described as like a person with a speech impediment, then rapidly tore away through the corn. The friend extinguished his cigarette and was frightened.

The witness joined a group of about eight on a three-night expedition in southeastern Oklahoma to let the beings come to them. The group heard grunting, whistling, chatter, footsteps and close tree-breaking, had pebbles and a rock thrown, and saw large upright black shadow figures with night vision and naked eyes. One figure was seen behind a truck and one coworker was startled by movement in brush, with no one seriously hurt.

The witness made a short phone recording while the dog acted frightened. The next morning they found elk tracks apparently at a run and a large footprint, then left early.
