Family and friends hear a late night vocalization from their home near Lake Sutherland
The witness reports a very loud simultaneous whistle, scream and growl coming from about 70 feet across the road from the cabin. The sound was heard by the witness and five other people and was described as unlike any known animal. An investigator later interviewed the witness and companions about the vocalization and noted inconclusive evidence in the area.

The witness and a companion briefly left their truck to check a regular campsite. From about 10 feet away they heard loud cracking in brush and saw it moving violently, then heard and felt two or three extremely heavy steps moving away. The witness went to wait along a bear trail in the evening during archery season and felt watched. A strong pungent odor unlike bear was noticed, then a large rock was thrown from upslope toward the witness with a very loud scream. The witness left the area and believed they were followed partway back to their vehicle.

The witness's husband was walking on their property in the afternoon when a loud scream or howl stopped him. He tried to locate the source and then charged to flush it from tall brush. He caught only brief glimpses of a dark, crouched form running in a zigzag pattern before it disappeared. He later thought it was primate-like and said it matched a howl heard on a television documentary.

A group drove up a dirt road to a creek and got out to look around. They reported hearing a scream-like sound, smelling a strong bad odor, and seeing a tall upright figure nearby that appeared to watch them. They also reported hearing movement suggesting others in the area, including splashing in the creek and banging sounds, then they left.

The guest hiked in to fish two small lakes and camped alone near the lower lake. After hearing a faint distant howl at dusk, the guest was awakened late at night by a very loud scream near camp, followed by unusual owl calls and distant stomping that faded away. The guest watched from the tent with a flashlight, packed up before dawn, and left at first light without finding tracks.

The witness and his teenage son were archery hunting and camping at a remote lake. Around 1 a.m. they were awakened by loud prolonged screams very close to their tent and heard something bipedal walk around them. They stayed awake the rest of the night. In the morning they found the only other camper's tent 200 yards away was gone.

The witness went outside with a dog in the early morning after hearing a gunshot nearby. The witness then heard movement through trees, saw limbs shaking, and heard a loud high-pitched scream. Looking up toward a tree, the witness saw large eyes on a completely black subject.

While deer hunting at sunset, the witness stood on a stump and heard a loud whistling sound with swirling pitch from a hill to the right. About 75 yards away he saw a dark upright figure about 6-7 feet tall facing him that stayed motionless for 15-30 seconds. He then climbed down and walked back to his truck without being followed.

The witness, his wife, and their infant son walked to a fishing pool along a brushy creek after noticing a strong odor. While the witness fished, his wife heard a rock land beside her on a gravel bar, followed by cracking noises like branches breaking underfoot in the forest behind them. The witness threw rocks toward the sounds thinking it was a bear, but the noises continued, so the family packed up and left without further incident.

The witness and a companion were bowhunting about 200 yards apart near dark when both heard loud primal screaming from about 100 yards away. Late at night the eyewitness went outside to work on a trailer and used a flashlight to check a noise. The light reflected off eyes on a nearby bank, revealing a large hair-covered human-like creature squatting a short distance away. The creature turned its head away from the light, and the eyewitness went back inside to call a relative. When the door was reopened, the creature was heard retreating through the woods while vocalizing.

The witness was walking with a dog on a dirt road in the early evening when the dog became agitated and aggressive. The witness heard grunting and movement in nearby woods, then saw a large hair-covered biped rise from behind a fallen tree and retreat into the woods. The dog chased the creature while the witness ran home, and the dog returned later unharmed. A strong road-kill-like odor was noted around the time of the sighting.
Footsteps (2004)
Months later the witness drove to a bridge late at night to fish. In complete darkness he heard sounds like a vehicle and approaching steps, felt the bridge shake from heavy impacts, heard a branch move and a brief powerful scream, and nearly shot a neighbor who rode up on a bicycle. He realized the neighbor had not made the sounds and drove home without returning to the woods.
Elk hunter hears growl, finds footprints, feces
While camping alone during an archery hunt, the witness was awake in the tent around 4 a.m. listening for elk. A low growl was heard from very close, followed by a loud scraping sound and a thud/stomp from trees 2-3 feet from the tent. The witness made noise and went outside yelling with an axe but heard nothing further and saw nothing.

The witness and a companion were walking toward a relative's home near the hills after their car broke down. They heard a whistling noise, then a howl-like sound, then a noise in nearby bushes which they went to investigate. A large figure appeared directly in front of them, and they ran while it chased them about 400 yards from the initial spot.

The witness was elk hunting with a companion in the evening near a pickup. After hearing loud movement coming downhill, the witness briefly saw a bipedal figure running along a ridge through burned trees, then heard loud screams. The companion also heard the screams over the radio and in person as they met to discuss it.

The witness explored a clearcut in Coos County Forest looking for hiking routes and found a bare footprint larger than his boot with visible toes. After rain washed the area, he returned and found additional larger and smaller impressions with a roughly six-foot stride, and later found similar long impressions on harder ground nearby. On a return visit he also heard repeated short whistle-like sounds receding from the creek area but saw no source.

A couple having a picnic hiked a short distance into the woods with their dog when they heard loud howling noises that seemed to move parallel to them. They then watched a nearly 8-foot-tall dark figure looking at them for about 10 seconds before it walked upright away deeper into the woods. After returning to their picnic area they heard very loud vocalizations again nearby, believed it had followed them, and ran for their vehicle.
