The witness and a companion were camped overnight while prospecting. About an hour after dark they heard a loud minute-long scream that shifted in pitch and direction and seemed to originate just outside the camp light. They did not see the source, which then left quietly. The next day they noted apparent bedding under a collapsed cabin roof and an odd-shaped impression in a creek sandbar.

Two companions trout fishing walked up an old roadbed paralleling the river and stopped where a gully crossed the road. They heard a loud thud and found a large log across the path behind them, then heard leaves shuffling upslope and saw a very large hair-covered figure standing close by. They fled back to their other companions, then the witness returned with two companions, found a large barefoot-like footprint in mud, but saw nothing else.

Two loggers arriving before daylight found fresh large tracks in snow at a landing and followed them briefly. Later while working the witness felt watched, heard a stick-banging sound on a tree that he could not locate, and noticed deer had left the area. The boss believed the tracks were sasquatch, and the witness came to believe a bigfoot was watching them.

By moonlight through a curtained window, the witness saw a tall shadowy figure with a large head and broad shoulders moving slowly past. The witness and a companion were camping in a tent when they were awakened in the very early morning by prolonged loud screams, followed by heavy footsteps, sniffing and heavy breathing just outside the tent. They remained inside until sunrise. In the morning they found scattered pine needles and dirt but no blood or fur, and large deep human-like footprints leading away into a wooded ravine, which the witness followed briefly before packing up and leaving.

The figures remained mostly still, with only minor sounds, while the pair talked and then backed out with firearms ready without firing at the figures. One figure was later seen leaping from the roadside high into a tree. The witness returned the next day to recover gear, found extensive large tracks, followed fresh tracks, and encountered one individual at close range.
