The witness was sleeping lightly in a tent on family property during a reunion camping trip after several nights of growls, whoops, and sounds of movement in the woods. About 1:46am something pressed the back of the tent against her back, grabbed her left arm through the fabric, and shook the tall air mattress violently while a bright white light shone on the tent. The shaking and light stopped, and she found the tent had been pushed 5 to 7 feet forward. She stayed awake, left the next morning, and later found fingerprint-like marks on her arm that were photographed.
Recent activity heard over three nights at a cabin, near Plain
The witness stayed four nights in a rented cabin above the Wenatchee River with two relatives. On three consecutive nights between about 1 and 3 a.m. she heard repeated howls from the forest while awake with windows open. On the third night she also heard three loud single wood knocks followed by several minutes of thumping on the lower back deck. On the fourth night, when other people were nearby and all three listened, nothing was heard.

Four campers spending the night near a creek reported hearing aggressive vocalizations described as a mix of whoops and screams, then seeing the silhouette of a very tall figure with a wide torso about fifteen feet away. They retreated to their truck before setting up camp, and later that night heard a deep whistle, crunching footsteps, pebbles hitting tents, and a branch breaking, along with a foul odor while a small dog growled. By morning a chair was found knocked over, but no tracks were located on the rocky ground.

Two hunters spent eight days camping in a tent while hunting. Most nights they heard moaning/howling and reciprocal wood knocks that seemed to move closer, and one night heard growls outside the tent but saw nothing when they rushed out with guns and flashlights. Twice they returned from hunting to find trees blocking or inside camp, including a large healthy green pine pushed over. After losing sleep they left for a family cabin and returned next morning to find the tent zipper partly open with the lantern still on.
Possible encounter in darkness outside Cle Elem
A group of four was camped overnight in a remote riverside campground. About 3 a.m. the witness, sleeping in a vehicle, woke to rustling and watched a large dark figure hunched over the picnic table going through bags and trash from about 15 feet away. Companions in tents heard rustling and grunting. In the morning there was no scattered trash, but a charcoal bag showed marks and some contents missing.

The witness and a relative were camping in a remote clearing on the first night of an elk-hunting trip. After splitting firewood in the evening they heard loud knocks from the woods, and one loud knock came back after the witness knocked in return. Around 1 a.m. they were awakened by something slapping their tent and by a loud roar beside the tent, but searches with lights found no tracks, broken branches, or odor.
Whoop in Washington (2016)
On a hot Memorial Weekend the witness and a friend camped in tents at an abandoned riverside campsite miles from the original area. They heard surrounding whoops, rock hits on tents, thumping from all sides, and a tree pushed over. Through the night something walked through camp, repeatedly charged the witness tent and grabbed the tent floor, showing large knuckled hands. They left at dawn.
Property owner outside Centralia describes multiple incidents
The witness lives with his wife on raw wooded property. He set out a peccary archery target that was found the next morning pulled up and pulled apart with apparent teeth marks. About two weeks before reporting, the couple heard a loud short call followed by a softer answering call ending in repeated grunts, which caused deer to flee.
Mother and son, while backpacking, experience a possible night-time camp approach near Natches
The witness and her adult son were camped overnight in tents at a lakeside site. At dusk the witness gave a loud whoop and heard a return whoop from across the lake, followed by elk bugling and a loud knock from behind camp. After going to bed, the witness felt something heavy step on the tent edge and push on her head through the fabric, then heard soft bipedal steps around camp until dawn when another knock was heard.

The witness was sleeping in a tent at a lake campground with family when she awoke to repeated patterned clacking sounds from the south. Later she felt contact through the tent fabric, felt the foot of the tent lift and settle, heard movement and more clacking from two directions, and felt unable to move or speak. She awoke again later to distant clacking, and in the morning found no sign except deer tracks with the tent still staked.
Tracks near Skamania County (2013)
In April 2013 the guest took his teenage son camping at a just-opened campground off Highway 14 along the Columbia River. During a daytime walk they found an old large track, opened clam shells out of place, a fresh vine-maple twist tucked behind a fir, an 18-inch footprint beneath it, and several pushed or tossed trees. That night in camp they heard branch-breaking, felt the tarps pulled, heard splashing, felt vibration waves, and heard two wood knocks before leaving exhausted in the morning.

Four friends camped overnight near a river. After a distant yelp, a companion reported seeing a large shape by the river that could not be made out in the dark. Later the two awake witnesses heard a loud knock on a tree near camp and then bipedal footsteps circling the tent, including contact brushing the tent, before the sounds moved away. A daylight check found no tracks.
Possible evidence collected after a woman is hit in the hand by a rock near Napavine
The witness and a companion were clearing branches in a logged area behind the house when they found rock piles and ten small grass bundles containing field mice. The dogs became agitated and a thrown rock struck the witness's hand. No animal was seen, but wood-on-wood knocking was heard several times over the next few hours.
Family has frequent visitors at their home near Ocean Park
The witness claims a family group has visited a rural wooded property regularly for nearly two years, typically evenings to early mornings several times a week. Reported activity includes footprints, wood knocks, odors, vocalizations, trail and structure formation, and direct sightings with food exchange and close interactions. An investigator visited the densely brushed property, observed extensive trails and shelter-like spots, and interviewed the household about four to five individuals of different sizes.
Door or window contact in Washington (2010)
After moving to the property the household repeatedly heard tapping on glass and slaps on the exterior walls, but found nothing when checking with a spotlight. Chairs left outside were found turned upside down in the morning. Strange whoop-like sounds were also heard from across the canyon and were initially attributed to bears or people.
Couple camping at a lake near Greenwater experience possible screams
The witness and a companion were camping at an isolated lake over a long weekend. On Saturday morning they began hearing very loud guttural scream-growls that seemed to warn them away from certain areas, including the path to the lake, and the sounds continued into Sunday. Overnight they heard cooking gear clanging and a heavy thump like logs dumped beside their trailer, but in the morning the gear was largely in place and no logs were found, and the companion also reported a strong putrid smell.
Campers hear footfalls, rock clicking and find foorprints
The witness was camping overnight with friends in the Mount Baker National Forest near the river. Between 2 and 3 a.m. she heard movement approach her tent and brush against it, while a companion in a truck reportedly felt a nudge and saw a fleeting shadow. The next morning the witness found multiple large footprints around her tent, the trail and vehicles and made a plaster cast of the clearest one. While waiting alone in camp later that day she heard persistent clicking from the woods and felt watched.
Hunter hears unknown vocalization in the distance, south of Lost Lake in the Norse Peak Wilderness
While camping alone in a tent on a hunting trip, the witness heard unidentified calls over about an hour and later was awakened by movement and shaking of the tent. The witness noticed the tent had been lifted and saw a shadow pass by, then illuminated a large dark human-like figure about 20 yards away that turned and ran into the brush. The witness kept lights on until sunrise and packed up and left the next morning.
Footprint found, scream heard in family corn field
Late at night the witness heard sounds from a large animal in the backyard corn garden while in the living room. The next day a large footprint was found in the garden and corn was missing from the tops of tall stalks with husks left on the ground. A photo of the track was taken.
Large prints found in mud and then vocalizations heard south of Yakama Reservation
The witness drove to rented pasture to check fences where cattle had been getting out. He found a large tree knocked through the fence with strange hair on the wire, moved the tree and repaired the fence, then found very large fresh footprints in mud near a creek. He heard a grunt near the repair site and later a high-pitched scream from the same direction, found items tossed from his truck bed, then left and did not return.
