The witness was scouting for a deer stand site in a swampy pine forest in the early afternoon. After hearing a distant splash and nearby snapping limbs, the witness saw a massive ape-like animal running away while grunting. The animal disappeared into the swamp, leaving a strong musk smell. The witness left, unsure what had been seen.

Four people were train-spotting and camping by railroad tracks at night when they heard noise in brush across the tracks and saw eyeshine and a large silhouette swaying. They reported a foul odor, cats fleeing, and rocks thrown toward them from the brush direction, with impacts sparking on the tracks. One teen went inside while the remaining witnesses heard chatter and a branch snap south of the first figure, leading the witness to think two creatures were present. The witness then lit the brush and saw a tall bipedal silhouette stand before it disappeared, with no further activity over the next two nights.
Odor in Georgia (2025)
Two soldiers on a nighttime security patrol left the patrol base and noticed unnerving silence, cold air, a strong rotten odor, and sounds paralleling them and following behind. They heard a knocking sound and a whistle that mimicked their own signal, then encountered a large shaggy shape blocking the trail that rose from a crouch and walked away upright. They were found by an instructor about a mile from the base perimeter and later told by leadership not to discuss the incident.

Daylight sighting by hunter 30 miles southeast of Louisville
The witness was sitting in a deer stand above a creek in heavily wooded bottomland waiting for deer. After smelling a musky odor and hearing leaves rustling behind the stand, the witness turned and saw a large dark-brown hairy biped across the creek about 60 yards away walking parallel to the water. The creature briefly turned its head toward the witness, continued swiftly with its arms swinging, and stayed in view for 10 to 15 seconds before moving away through trees.

The couple returned to the same road to measure the 2003 crossing and hike all day. They smelled strong urine and rotten-meat odors, found odd stacked limbs and other tree breaks, and watched a large limb fly over a cliff into the creek. Ten people renting a cabin heard branch-breaking noises, bangs, sounds like throwing, and strange howls after midnight, along with a foul outdoor odor. Four of the group then saw a large black bipedal figure in a field in front of the cabin that turned and went back into the woods. The group then heard more walking, howls and breaking branches around the cabin and later found a footprint.

The witness was at home overnight with bedroom windows open after letting her dog out when she heard a loud siren-like howl, followed a few minutes later by a fainter similar sound from farther away. She judged the sounds unlike coyote, wolf, or domestic dog and described them as a single drawn-out whooooooo that rose and then stopped. She also reported a strong trashy skunk-like odor. No visual contact was described.

Over about four years the household noticed odd sounds, smells and disturbances around their wooded Texas property. They heard voice-like calls, hoots, growls and repeated wood knocks, found scat, stripped and snapped trees, and missing bait. The witness was camped overnight in a remote forest clearing with his child while another camp was nearby. Around midnight the woods went silent and something large approached on two legs, walking around the tent and making contact along the roof. The witness stayed quiet in the tent holding a handgun until the visitor left toward the woods, with normal night sounds returning much later. In the morning no clear prints were found and the companion said he had heard movement.

The witness and a companion hiked to a high-elevation lake to fish and stopped to rest on the trail. A large angular rock landed near them after they heard it moving through the air, followed by a loud grunt, a foul odor, and heavy footsteps approaching downhill. Fearing a bear, they fled down the switchback trail while the footsteps cut straight downhill behind them for about five minutes before stopping. They abandoned personal items, returned to the trailhead, and left the area.

From inside the blind he heard coyotes, then hollering, rock-banging or wood-knock sounds, and whoops as something ran up the slope, crossed the road, and stopped in thick brush behind him. He then heard loud raspy breathing and growling and smelled a strong obnoxious odor for about five minutes before the animal ran away along the treeline and the woods went quiet.
