A group of four was camped overnight in a remote riverside campground. About 3 a.m. the witness, sleeping in a vehicle, woke to rustling and watched a large dark figure hunched over the picnic table going through bags and trash from about 15 feet away. Companions in tents heard rustling and grunting. In the morning there was no scattered trash, but a charcoal bag showed marks and some contents missing.

The witness was camping with a group on a friend's undeveloped property and spent two nights riding ATVs to a remote spot to try imitation yells and tree knocks for fun. The group reported hearing responding knocks, high-pitched vocalizations, loud grunt-like growls from in front and behind, and a very loud tree-breaking sound, all from about 75 to 300 yards away. Nothing was ever seen, and the group left the hillside quickly after the close growls, later listening from camp.

The witness camped overnight near a lake while on a solo backpacking trip with a dog. After dark the dog growled intermittently and the witness heard paired screams, rock sounds, and repeated hooting exchanges across the valley. Around 2 a.m. rocks landed in shallow water near the tent, followed by a voice-like sound, and at dawn the dog stared into the woods while the witness packed to leave. The witness reports never seeing any animal or person.

The witness camped alone at a remote alpine lake and saw a black shiny shape on a ridge during a day hike that stayed motionless when called to. That evening while cooking the witness heard a loud screech, then after dark was awakened by extremely loud cracks followed by falling rocks, with a second closer event about 40 minutes later. The witness stayed awake afraid until daylight and left quickly in the morning.

The witness was taking overnight ambient-noise measurements at a rural residence surrounded by timber land. Shortly after starting, after hearing distant coyotes, she heard loud scream-like howls exchanged between two directions for about 30 seconds. After a quiet period during which nearby dogs and a horse became agitated, she heard another solitary similar howl-scream from the same direction.

The witness claims finding a fresh large footprint in muddy ground near a river in the early afternoon, with photographs taken and others present. At the same time the group heard noises from underbrush up the hill. They thought the noise could possibly have been a herd of elk.

The witness walked alone down a wooded path to a spring on a relative's farm. Near the spring the witness watched a hair-covered bipedal creature squatting and drinking for one to two minutes. A vocal sound from behind startled the first creature to standing and revealed a second taller creature close behind the witness. The witness ran away through the woods to the path and was not followed.
