A man was reportedly held captive for six days in the early twentieth century in coastal Canada. During captivity he reported hearing the captors chattering amongst themselves back and forth. The account was later documented in a book by a well-known researcher.

A late pedestrian encountered a white-haired apparition that shrieked, dropped to all fours, clawed the sidewalk, and launched at him. He fled crying to a sheltering doorway while the pursuer passed on and vanished between houses. Neighbors reported being kept awake by weird cries.

Members of a berry-picking party heard a peculiar noise above a ravine and saw a nearly nude long-haired being with uneven limbs hanging on a vine and swinging as if humming. Upon seeing them it leaped from tree to tree and vanished while chattering.
Sasquatch sighting in Florida (1884)
In 1884 a rural community living around Ocheesee Pond lost livestock and heard eerie nighttime calls from the water. After children were frightened by a hair-covered figure, residents formed a posse, captured it, and transported it chained to the governor in Tallahassee. The governor could not place it and sent it to the nearby Chattahoochee hospital, where it died and was buried under later construction.

A party out driving with horses through a hill pass had a lead horse become unmanageable and show terror as a wild cry came from the thicket, refusing to pass. Local farmers also reported livestock depredations and peculiar footprints in snow that searchers could not resolve. The newspaper presented the story without conclusion.

A teenage boy working in backwoods heard what he thought was his younger brother whistling and approaching. He saw a small human-like being covered with black hair, tried to shoot it but trembled, and the being stepped behind a tree then ran off whistling. The boy returned home frightened and upset when recalling it.

A berry picker encountered a small child-sized hair-covered being walking upright toward them while whistling like a person. After initial fright the witness pursued it, but it ran away very fast continuing to whistle. The teller notes locals afterward called it a name associated with its speed.
