They braked hard, and the animal stood up from a squat, moved to the roadside, looked at them briefly, vocalized, and left into the woods. Both occupants briefly got out, felt watched, pulled the deer carcass off the road, and left.
Couple hears strange night time howls across stream from their home
On a winter evening at home, the witness went outside with the dog and heard prolonged loud howling he did not recognize. He brought his wife to listen, and they later heard what sounded like two separate sources calling from across a gulch while neighborhood dogs barked. After comparing internet animal sounds they felt the howls most closely resembled an alleged Ohio howl recording, but a later check of the area found no tracks.
