At about 3:45 a.m. the witness awoke to a very loud, prolonged, angry-sounding howl from a distance, followed by the sound of a rabbit in distress. A friend camping with the group also said the unfamiliar sound woke him.

The witness camped alone in a tent after car trouble forced an unplanned overnight stop. Around 11:10 p.m. the witness was awakened by something lifting and dropping the picnic table, banging a fruit bowl, circling the tent with loud heavy bipedal steps, and making human-like wailing sounds. The witness stayed inside in fear and later heard it cross the stream and climb the hill. Next morning the fruit was untouched but the table was damaged and large human-like footprints were found nearby.

The witness became separated from relatives while out in forest near a lake in spring. The witness stopped at a trail entrance and watched a tall dark manlike creature scrape bark with its palms and pound a tree trunk with a fist. The creature paused and turned to look at the witness. The frightened witness cried and left the area after viewing lasting a couple minutes.

Late at night the witness sat by open backyard windows after turning down the TV and heard two long exhalations from just outside at head height. Frightened, the witness shouted out the window and fled to the front of the house, startling a sleeping relative and dog. The next day the witness found a large barefoot human-like footprint in soil against the house corner beneath the window.

As she backed out between granite rock piles, she saw a massive auburn-haired arm pressed flat against the rocks close to her. She eventually left the area and became physically ill from fear and adrenaline.

The witness was camping with family in Monache Meadows when loud echoing whoops were heard from nearby late at night. The whoops came in pairs and were then joined by coyote howls and sounds of a violent chase that receded into the distance. No visual observation was made and the group did not search the area the next day.

Early in the morning the witness took the dog out to the end of the driveway before work. The dog alerted toward the treeline, then the witness heard a loud howl and wood-on-wood sounds very close and glimpsed a figure by a tree. After going back inside and leaving again, the witness heard footsteps in the dark and saw a huge dark upright figure moving along the fence and driveway by a pond, later noticing a foul odor and disturbed leaves in the area.

The witness stepped outside a crowded resort cabin after dinner to get air and heard dogs barking followed by a deep moaning sound from woods across the highway that grew louder. The witness called a spouse outside, who also heard the sound repeat and grow deeper. The sound lasted about one and a half to two minutes and was unfamiliar despite years of hiking and camping. The witness interpreted it as possible Bigfoot calls.

The witness was turkey hunting at dawn on a wet, still morning when he heard a rhythmic sound like footsteps approaching up a valley. A tall upright creature came into view about 50 yards away, stopped, stared at him, and crouched after he clicked off his shotgun safety before continuing on and disappearing. He did not shoot, then ran back to his truck. He later described a foul smell lingering after the encounter.

The witness and a companion were driving in snow when they noticed movement under a large fir tree near a road junction. They stopped and watched a very large ape-like figure observe them for about a minute. The figure then walked bipedally up a steep ravine, glancing back, while making a low grunting sound. The pair stayed in their vehicle because of its size and later returned to estimate its height.

The witness walked to a railroad crossing late at night and heard loud screams and thrashing in nearby woods. Rocks landed around the witness, including one larger rock seen coming through the trees, and the witness threw a rock back before leaving. Screaming was heard continuing up the mountain as the witness returned to the main road. Broken trees were also noticed near the site.

About two weeks before reporting, the witness was walking along Highway 17 at night to and from a store. On the return trip beside a wooded creek, something moved through the brush and seemed to follow, stopping when the witness stopped. In a partially lit spot at the woods edge the witness saw a reddish, long-haired, ape-like creature squatting with its long arms forward.

From riverside cover about 50 yards away, a loud sustained screeching-howl was heard, clearly audible over traffic noise, startling the witness and dogs. The witness searched from the bank and bridge but saw no people or animals.

The witness and a companion were in a wooded strip mine area in the morning when they heard a loud groaning sound. They went to check for someone hurt and saw a large brown figure standing about six feet tall. The witness yelled to scare it, the figure looked at them and then ran off into the mines. They searched for about an hour without seeing it again.
