Believing no other people or vehicles were in the area, he chose not to climb the steep, dense slope to investigate and left after the sounds continued from one location. He only later associated the sounds with alleged Bigfoot behavior after reading reports online.

They returned to their campfire, where the screams returned much closer and louder for about ten minutes, followed by silence and then branch-breaking sounds around the campsite. One of the men fired a .22 caliber rifle, after which it went quiet before distant screams were heard again fading away. The group remained overnight and left in the morning.

Going down to the bank to look, the witness saw a large hairy ape-like figure standing in the river. The figure turned and ran through the water toward the witness while making a gurgling sound. The witness fled up the bank, fell while running, and later avoided the bridge at night.

The witness and a companion were sitting on their deck in a rural wooded area after midnight when they heard a very loud, deep howling lasting two to three minutes. They later played an online recording of reported howling that they felt sounded exactly the same. About fifteen minutes after the sound, they went outside and noticed a very foul odor described as skunk mixed with urine.

Something charged toward them from a wooded hill, crashing through vegetation while emitting a terrifying howl/growl, and the witness glimpsed a black figure. The witness and companions stayed overnight near a meadow at Lake McCumber and heard a strange high-pitched, human-like howling from the meadow off and on between 3 and 5 a.m. Two companions stayed up on the deck listening while the witness listened from bed. No creature was seen. The next morning a fawn without its mother was noticed in the meadow.

The witness was mowing overgrown grass when rocks were repeatedly thrown toward them. They then noticed a strong foul odor and heard laughter-like sounds with no other person visible. They saw a very tall creature behind a tree, fled toward a door, and looked back to see it running through trees and brush.

On the return trip that afternoon they found a very large footprint on the same trail and later measured its length from a shirt cutout. They also heard a loud deep gargling sound while insects were quiet and saw a large trail pushed through briars.

The witness and a companion drove into regrown logged woods outside Marcola late at night to find a spot for a campfire. While trying to build a fire from wet sticks, both heard an undescribable low sound repeated in hoots, muffled voices with low whistles, and faint heavy footsteps. Frightened, they left after the car initially failed to start with the key and had to be push-started, and it started normally once they reached the main road.

The witness and a relative were camping on a rural forested property and getting ready for bed when they heard a long harsh yowl close to the campsite and heard something moving. When the witness shone a flashlight toward the sound, it stopped and seemed to move away without being seen. No physical evidence was found, and the sound was provisionally dismissed as a coyote although the witness doubts that explanation.

The witness and a companion were driving out of a driveway around 2:30 a.m. when an extremely tall grayish figure ran across the road in front of their vehicle, paused briefly, then ran away. Both occupants reported seeing it and they left quickly because they were frightened. The witness also thought a grunting sound was heard but was unsure whether it came from the vehicle.

The witness found a large human-like footprint on a muddy curve and returned with a camera and casting supplies to document it. While making the cast, nearby bushes rustled violently and the top of a small tree snapped off and fell near the road, followed by several whinny-like vocalizations from the woods. Days later the witness believed an outline of a figure appeared in one photo and reported being followed on later visits to check for more prints.
