Researcher Manny S. describes couples encounter near Ashland
Account
Two married couples camping near a quarry went swimming at night and heard distant high-pitched screams. They returned to their campfire, where the screams returned much closer and louder for about ten minutes, followed by silence and then branch-breaking sounds around the campsite. One of the men fired a .22 caliber rifle, after which it went quiet before distant screams were heard again fading away. The group remained overnight and left in the morning.
