The witness was scouting for a deer stand site in a swampy pine forest in the early afternoon. After hearing a distant splash and nearby snapping limbs, the witness saw a massive ape-like animal running away while grunting. The animal disappeared into the swamp, leaving a strong musk smell. The witness left, unsure what had been seen.

Four people were train-spotting and camping by railroad tracks at night when they heard noise in brush across the tracks and saw eyeshine and a large silhouette swaying. They reported a foul odor, cats fleeing, and rocks thrown toward them from the brush direction, with impacts sparking on the tracks. One teen went inside while the remaining witnesses heard chatter and a branch snap south of the first figure, leading the witness to think two creatures were present. The witness then lit the brush and saw a tall bipedal silhouette stand before it disappeared, with no further activity over the next two nights.

The witness was sitting in a deer stand above a creek in heavily wooded bottomland waiting for deer. After smelling a musky odor and hearing leaves rustling behind the stand, the witness turned and saw a large dark-brown hairy biped across the creek about 60 yards away walking parallel to the water. The creature briefly turned its head toward the witness, continued swiftly with its arms swinging, and stayed in view for 10 to 15 seconds before moving away through trees.

She judged the sounds unlike coyote, wolf, or domestic dog and described them as a single drawn-out whooooooo that rose and then stopped. She also reported a strong trashy skunk-like odor. He then heard loud raspy breathing and growling and smelled a strong obnoxious odor for about five minutes before the animal ran away along the treeline and the woods went quiet.
