On August 1, 1990, a woman at a mobile home near Eldon, Oklahoma reported hearing noises and smelling a bad odor before seeing a very tall, heavy creature. A deputy later found large impressions at the scene. Two days later, two other residents reported a similar upright animal at a trash pile nearby.

Late on Thanksgiving night in 1977, the witness was returning home from jogging when he heard a noise in nearby bushes and ran uphill toward his house. Two teenage boys clearing brush saw an animal approach, growl and pelt them with rocks, hitting one in the leg. They fled to a nearby house and returned with an older girl carrying a rifle. Police blamed a bear, raccoon or wild dog.

Large prints found below Cold Springs
On a Sunday night, repeated shrieks were heard in brushland where a roughly 10-foot-tall grotesque man-like figure was reported. Large prints measuring about 14 to 17 inches were found nearby over the next two days and were followed through a subdivision, park and camp area. A law enforcement leader later described the tracks as shoe prints made before a light snowfall and suggested a mountain lion as a possible source of the noises, while noting fresh lion tracks and no cabin break-ins.
