Two girls encountered a tall dark figure at close range in a marshy wooded area near a fence. The figure left quickly while splashing through water, as a nearby cat reacted with alarm and neighboring dogs barked and fled. The witnesses then heard loud imitative barking and cow-like sounds from different directions, followed by faint responses to their own knocks. They went inside and later recounted the events to family and an investigator.

Two men were hog hunting at night in woods near a lake when they heard a loud deep chuffing sound given four times from several hundred yards away, followed by complete silence of other animals. About an hour later they heard the same sound much louder from about 50 yards away and heard something moving slowly westward along the treeline. They remained frightened and sat back-to-back for the rest of the night and later could not identify the sound.

In April 2013 the guest took his teenage son camping at a just-opened campground off Highway 14 along the Columbia River. During a daytime walk they found an old large track, opened clam shells out of place, a fresh vine-maple twist tucked behind a fir, an 18-inch footprint beneath it, and several pushed or tossed trees. That night in camp they heard branch-breaking, felt the tarps pulled, heard splashing, felt vibration waves, and heard two wood knocks before leaving exhausted in the morning.

While talking about implants, they heard heavy bipedal footsteps approach down the trail, saw a huge looming figure, shouted for identification with no response, and it charged to within 10-12 feet before veering downhill. They shone headlamps where it stopped, saw nothing, felt watched, then retreated backward to the parking lot and listened in silence.

The witness was outside behind home around 9 pm and heard heavy leaves crunching. The witness then saw a large hairy slouched figure standing under a security light watching, estimated at about nine to ten feet tall. The witness whistled several times, the figure turned to look and then walked with a long stride behind nearby trailers toward the woods.

The witness and a spouse were collecting firewood on a logging road in the late afternoon when they heard a loud two-toned whooping call from one side, answered by a higher-pitched response from the opposite side. The calls continued back and forth for about a minute in what sounded like communication, while other forest sounds went silent. After the sounds stopped abruptly, normal woods sounds gradually returned several minutes later.

On a night trip in early March 2013, the witness and three companions stopped in the woods around 2:30 a.m. after hearing a loud moaning sound. The witness shone a light downhill and saw a head with two closely spaced eyes about 40 feet away and 5 to 6 feet off the ground. The eyes stared for about 45 seconds before sidestepping behind a tree, and a quick search found nothing and no tracks.

The witness retreated to the car, repositioned it, and tried for about an hour to elicit further response, later hearing a growl and movement alongside and then away.

While deer hunting in late afternoon the witness heard yipping followed by whooping, yelling and loud approaching bipedal footsteps. A large dark hair-covered biped emerged from a draw about seventy yards away, walked past at an angle, then turned upslope into brush and out of view. The figure was reportedly visible for about two minutes with travel sounds heard briefly afterward, and the site was revisited the next morning for a height comparison.

Over several nights in December the witness and their partner sat on their home lanai at night and heard a loud cry or scream, rock-clacking sounds, and stones or pebbles striking the house and lanai, and noticed a strange unknown odor for two days. No creature was seen. An investigator later visited the property, found a displaced rock, a single possible footprint, and nearby scat, and noted the property backs onto a power-line corridor.

Shortly after midnight the witness walked past his front door on the way to the bathroom and noticed a tall, hair-covered figure standing at the bottom of his front steps. He estimated it at about 8 feet tall and as wide as his steps, with long arms and no visible neck or facial features. He turned to grab a camera but the figure was gone when he looked back, and he saw nothing when he opened the door and turned on the porch light. Shortly afterward he heard repeated deep rumbling sounds described as like thunder from inside the house.

The witness was riding a four-wheeler on private property to handle trail cameras near dusk. After topping a ridge and shutting off the vehicle, the witness saw a tall hairy biped about 30 feet away running away and knocking over a small tree. The witness heard crashing sounds during the flight and noticed a faint musky smell afterward.

Two hunters sat in a blind when the woods went quiet and they heard crashing, bipedal footsteps, a loud crash and a deep howl. After waiting until dark, they left and walked toward their boat. When one turned around he saw eye shine several feet off the ground behind them, which then turned away.
