Two young sisters sleeping in an old-style tent hear very heavy footsteps approach and feel something pushing, scratching and sniffing at the tent walls. A finger-like form pokes through the front opening, and one sister strikes it with a flashlight. It withdraws and heavy steps crash away through the field and tree line.

In the dark he heard something wading through waist-deep water inside a dense treeline, stepping over deadfalls, passing within about thirty feet and continuing to the back of the pond. He later checked with the game warden and inspected the bank, concluding no person should have been there without a light and feeling the presence was deliberately hiding.
