Logging crew sees creature standing on road, it screams

A logging crew traveling in a crew wagon encountered a large hair-covered biped standing in the road. The creature looked at them, then walked off on two legs while giving an elk-like scream. After the crew exited the vehicle they noticed a strong sweaty odor and heard it crashing through brush into dense forest. They radioed a supervisor about law enforcement follow-up, but no one arrived.

Evening worker hears vocalizations, smells strong odor in Big Thicket

The witness was walking down a dirt road on company property in deep woods when he heard rustling in brush about thirty yards away and smelled a strong skunk-like odor. After stopping, shouting, and resuming walking to a gate and back, he heard quiet whooping vocalizations from behind that grew louder as he moved away. He did not see the source and first considered wild hogs before later considering something unidentified.

A large backpacking group was camped in timber near a lake and preparing for the day's hike. They heard several loud whooping vocalizations coming from up the trail and initially assumed another hiking group was nearby. They later found no sign of other visitors in the area and noted an absence of small wildlife.

After tossing overripe grapple apples into the side yard, the witness heard violent beating on the nearby hunter shed that stopped with a flashlight and resumed without it until a car alarm stopped it. Next day the heavy shed appeared moved about four feet from its cinder blocks.

Sounds heard while walking dogs through the woods

The witness and a companion were walking puppies in the woods when they heard an extremely loud, low-pitched roaring sound echoing. The witness said it did not resemble any animal native to the area. Both fled in fear while a dog ran toward the sound, and a relative who later searched with a gun found nothing.

The witness and two companions explored a deforested and mined area with piled boulders and abandoned mine buildings. Over about an hour they heard tapping from the woods, running footfalls, crashing in brush, and other strange noises, while stones were reportedly thrown toward the companions. They also found many snapped trees and a very large mound of possible scat that a tossed rock sank into.

The witness was camping on the mansion grounds for a re-enactment event. Late Saturday night the witness sat around a campfire at the edge of the woods with two companions and heard footsteps moving inside the woods. They shined a flashlight toward the sound and it stopped, then resumed moving away after the light was turned off. No source was seen.

Late at night on two consecutive nights, the witness and their father sat by the campfire and heard long moaning howls repeating for over an hour. The sounds seemed to come from a distant opposite ridge from at least two different directions.

In darkness the witness heard bipedal footsteps approach, contact and scratch the rain cover and disturb stakes, then heard a second set of footsteps nearby and distant rock-clicking sounds. After triggering a vehicle alarm, a branch broke as something walked away. In the morning the witness found a footprint-like mark, lifted stakes, and bent trees.

The witness and a companion camped at a dead-end dirt road near Timothy Lake after their intended campground was full. Around 11 p.m. while relaxing at camp, they heard a strange loon-like sound ending in a growl, followed about ten seconds later by another distant growl. Both found the sounds unfamiliar, and the companion later admitted the sound had unsettled him.

Camping family glimpses a grey animal twice in three days

The witness was camping with kids on Oak Creek in July 2005. On two nights after 10 p.m. the witness and her daughter saw a short grey slender shape dash behind trees and run toward cover near the river, followed once by a thud and high-pitched shrieks. The family also heard patterned rock clicks and nearby walking and breathing, and noticed a skunk-like odor. The family became frightened and packed to leave.

The witness was camping in an old open cabin with companions and a dog. About two days after a disturbed night, the group heard branches snapping and something large running at night and watched a tall shadowy figure run across the road and up a hill in a few strides. The dog reacted strongly and had to be put in a tent. The next morning they found very large footprints behind the cabin and across the road.

Three Marines were moving on foot at night through woods on base during a training exercise after their compass route looped them back toward the start. After correcting course, they heard cracking, turned on flashlights, and saw a large hairy figure about 20 yards away positioned high between two trees pulling them together. They fled when they heard a heavy thud and crashing pursuit behind them, running to their pickup vehicle and leaving.

The witness and a companion were camping and sitting around a campfire at midnight when they heard a single loud, low-pitched prolonged howl estimated at about ten seconds that seemed to come from several ridges away and grew stronger at the end. They considered non-Sasquatch explanations such as sirens, fireworks, and human vocalization but felt none fit. Their dog became attentive and briefly moved toward the sound then returned, and no further signs were noted that night.
