The witness and a companion were camping and sitting around a campfire at midnight when they heard a single loud, low-pitched prolonged howl estimated at about ten seconds that seemed to come from several ridges away and grew stronger at the end. They considered non-Sasquatch explanations such as sirens, fireworks, and human vocalization but felt none fit. Their dog became attentive and briefly moved toward the sound then returned, and no further signs were noted that night.

An investigator visited the area later, hiked a forest trail, heard bipedal footsteps tracking them, but found no tracks.
The witness and companion returned to the same campsite a few weeks later hoping to hear the sound again but heard nothing.
