Three relatives boated far upriver to prospect and stayed overnight in a small flimsy counting shack. After dark they saw red eyeshine of three creatures, then a face at the window that incapacitated one man. The witness fired through the wall, endured hours of pressure, screams, circling, and a huge silhouette, then escaped at daylight under rock throws and rifle fire that did not stop the creatures.

After dark they saw three sets of red eyeshine, then a face staring through a small window, prompting shotgun shots through the wall. Through the night they endured screams, shaking of the shack, circling footsteps, a huge light-absorbing silhouette, and pellet-like impacts. At dawn while fleeing to the skiff a basketball-sized rock narrowly missed the guest and he fired a rifle center-mass with no effect before they escaped by boat.

The witness and his wife parked along Highway 128 and walked about 150 yards into redwood forest on a trail. They reported feeling watched and feeling then hearing a low, nearly inaudible growl-grunt that grew louder over about a minute. Unable to see anything or tell the direction in dense woods, they became frightened and ran back to their car.
Growling noises heard outside bedroom window
The witness was in bed with the window open and heard woman-like screaming before falling asleep. Around 1 to 2 a.m. the witness woke to a neighbor's dog barking at something on the south side of the house, then heard a man-like ahhh that turned into a very low guttural growl, after which the dog stopped barking. The witness froze, later closed the window, and police were called. The next day the witness found a fetal-shaped depression about seven feet long in tall yellow grass where the sound came from.

At dark on a gravel road the guest heard a low growl from thick brush to his left and detoured through a day-use area. Hours later his tent-mate reported a tree falling across the road with subsequent limb snapping that frightened the campground.

The witness stated the sound was unlike anything heard before in a lifetime in the woods and did not resemble a bear or cougar. The witness compared the sound to a gorilla preparing to charge. Both hikers reportedly experienced goose bumps upon hearing it.

Two forestry workers measuring trees heard log-ripping and heavy footstep sounds, then had a large rotten root chunk and a smaller stick thrown toward them from an unseen source. One worker walked toward the direction of the throws and saw a tall, broad, long-haired figure standing motionless with its back turned. The witness returned to the coworker without disclosing the sighting and they finished quickly and left.

Two hunters resting on a brush pile during an archery moose hunt heard whooping vocalizations and chest-beating sounds likened to a zoo gorilla for about an hour. They did not see the source and did not investigate because they were focused on a nearby moose and darkness fell. A young bull moose in the area acted frightened and refused to approach.

While fishing from a small boat with a companion, the witness heard a large heavy animal running through shallow water near shore, after which birds fled, the area went silent, and a bad smell was noticed. Looking back into an inlet, the witness saw a very large two-legged figure standing in tree shadows and swaying side to side before leaving.

The witness and his wife stopped their truck at a clearcut to look for elk. Over several minutes they heard repeated loud knocking sounds from the timber that grew progressively closer. When a foul odor was noticed at close range, they got back in the truck and left.

Two witnesses scouting for deer hunting spots heard a yelp ending in a descending howl twice from one direction. After one witness struck a tree with a limb, they heard a single moan-like vocalization from the opposite direction. They interpreted the sounds as coming from two different animals communicating. The woods were otherwise quiet and the event lasted about half a minute.

On the final morning both heard repeated very loud screeching, guttural, howl-like sounds from upslope lasting several minutes but could see no source. Both were shaken, ate quickly, left earlier than planned while checking behind them, and have not returned. The witness concluded the unknown sounds were made by a Sasquatch.

The witness and two companions were burning brush outside a cottage at night when their dog growled toward the darkness, a foul feces-like odor was present, and they heard a loud snap or crack but saw nothing in vehicle lights. They went inside for the night. The next morning they found large barefoot prints in sand behind the cottage that dwarfed an adult man's size-12 foot.

A family camping near Bear Canyon Lake was awakened about 4 AM Sunday by repeated loud, angry howling, screaming and growling estimated about 150 yards away. The calls continued many times and caused coyotes to react, while the family stayed quiet in their tent until daylight. Neighboring campers had left by morning so they could not be interviewed.

The witness and a companion were backpack camping overnight at Loon Lake. Sometime during the night the witness heard a strange howling and hooting sound from a meadow about 100 yards north of camp and listened for some time. The witness did not recognize the sound as a known local animal. After returning home the witness compared it to online clips and judged it similar to an Estacada recording.

The witness and a companion backpacked toward the mountain on the final night and slept on the ground. As they packed to leave Sunday morning they heard a loud powerful knock about 75 yards toward the mountain. Being new, they did not investigate and hiked out.

The witness was camped alone in a small tent near a mountain during a summer expedition. Late at night he heard slow bipedal footsteps approach, stop beside his head, then continue past toward another camp. The next morning small bare footprints were found coming from a swampy wooded area up to and past his tent.

A branch high up was moving, then something fell or jumped out and hit the ground hard. They shone lights on it and watched it walk away, describing it as tall, broad-shouldered, hairy, and foul-smelling.
