Sasquatch sighting near New Meadows, Idaho (2026)
A group of about ten young campers spent Memorial weekend at a secluded forest clearing. After earlier strange sounds and a brief sighting, one camper encountered a tall bipedal figure near the camp bathroom area and alerted the group. Several campers armed themselves, moved children into a vehicle, fired warning shots, and pursued the figure toward a nearby friends camp where they reported being circled by three tall dark-furred bipeds. The following mornings the group reported handprints on vehicles, footprints, nests, and broken-tree crosses and teepee structures around both camps.

He went to the parking lot with a machete and faced eyeshine about 70 feet away. The witness saw a fast dark figure cross the wide trail behind a deer, then later stood feet away from a tall black fur-covered figure with long arms that disappeared instantly. The partner did not see the figure but saw a branch fall, heard snapping, and they found and photographed footprints.

The closer witness looked and saw a very dark, massive, hair-covered form about 20-30 feet away. He became dizzy and saw the child with red glowing eyes and jagged teeth attack him, followed by aggression from the mother and father. The witness was sitting in a deer stand above a creek in heavily wooded bottomland waiting for deer. After smelling a musky odor and hearing leaves rustling behind the stand, the witness turned and saw a large dark-brown hairy biped across the creek about 60 yards away walking parallel to the water. The creature briefly turned its head toward the witness, continued swiftly with its arms swinging, and stayed in view for 10 to 15 seconds before moving away through trees.

The witness was walking dogs on paths in the woods at dusk when the dogs became alert and a strange kaw-kaw call was heard. The witness then saw a gray, medium-build, roughly seven-foot-tall figure with shiny blue eyes and bent arms that looked at them, shuffled its feet, and turned into the woods toward a ridge. The witness left with the dogs and later reported finding a partial footprint.

Later the same day the pair hiked deep into the forest, first noting twisted broken branches pointed toward the trail. On a thicker, darker return trail they heard bipedal footsteps on both sides, a whistle, a deep vocal sound, and smelled a foul odor while the woods stayed silent. After reaching a logging clearing with empty cabins, they turned to see the back of a tall dark-haired biped before hurrying to a paved road where workers directed them out.

The witness reported being awakened at home by loud vocalizations and sounds of objects hitting the house, with farm and domestic animals reacting. He went outside armed to check the chicken pen and reported seeing a man-like bipedal figure taking chickens and retreating toward the woods. He said he pursued to high ground and aimed through his rifle scope, but branches fell near him and loud movement approached from both sides, prompting him to retreat and later fire toward the hollow. A single track was reported in the creek bottom the next day, but erosion had removed detail.
