The witness was riding a bicycle south on a wooded riverside trail in the early afternoon. He heard a loud wood knock close by, then commotion in dense brush, and felt he was being watched as the woods went quiet. After riding about 100 yards farther up a hill, he heard a second loud knock from farther away. He reported no visual contact with any animal or figure.

Two volunteers were feeding birds at a raptor center late at night when they heard something large moving in the woods beyond the cages. Four girls were riding horses on a moonlit night when their horses stopped and focused on a hilltop ahead. They heard a loud guttural growl mixed with vowel-like sounds and wood snapping, which frightened them. They galloped back to the farm where they were staying. The next morning they found a small wooden corral they had built on that hilltop broken apart.
