On June 12, 2021, the witness family stopped at Upper Mill Pond to fish and watched a moose and calves from their truck. They heard an estimated 8-10 wood knocks from the west tree line from at least three different positions while vehicles came and went. The witness considered people in the woods as possible but later interpreted the sounds as Bigfoot-related after hearing another knock that night at a stargazing stop.

On the second night the witness left the tent with a rifle and light and heard something large and heavy crashing through timber with loud footsteps, then stood guard until morning and left early without telling the children.

Neither saw the source of the sounds or tracks, and they left the area feeling something large had stayed hidden nearby.

The witness and his father were dressing an elk on a steep mountain slide when they heard 8-10 loud rhythmic knocks from dense timber about 100 yards away to the south. The sounds were described as crisp impacts like rock on wood and unlike anything they could identify. The father had heard similar loud knocks earlier that same morning from up the slide.

Three coworkers riding in a golf cart while collecting flags passed within a few feet of a tall pale human-like figure beside the path near hole 13. They drove past, confirmed they had all seen something, and turned back; two of them saw it again peeking from behind the elevated tee box before it moved out of sight. They left, returned minutes later in an enclosed cart, and heard repeated creaking sounds nearby before leaving the area.
Notes from the Colorado BFRO Expedition
During a daytime hike up a drainage on 10 Sept, the witness stopped at an old hunting camp and heard two clear wood knocks about 150-200 yards away. After confirming by radio that no other participants were nearby or knocking, the witness knocked back and received an immediate two-knock reply from slightly farther away. Further knocks and whoops over about 30 minutes drew no additional replies, and no movement or odor was noticed. The witness then returned to camp and later revisited the area by ATV with others.

In late September 2005 the witness was camped at Jacob's Hill and sitting by the fire when a loud throaty wailing roar lasting about 5-10 seconds came from timber between meadows. Coyotes in several nearby spots immediately began howling and yelping as if disturbed. The witness did not hear the sound again during that trip.

The witness and his wife were bedded down in their pop-up camper at night when they heard lapping sounds and their skillet rattling outside. The witness opened the camper door expecting a bear and saw a large dark upright shape about forty feet away moving swiftly into the timber. Three campers were around a late-night campfire when they heard repeated series of deep two-tone howls from hills to the north and south and a loud tree-impact sound. One source of howls moved from about 100 yards west to about 50 yards in the treeline, appearing to exchange calls with a distant source while crashing through brush toward camp. Alarmed, the group packed under guard and drove out, hearing the howls again from about a mile behind them. They later interpreted the incident as possibly involving three large communicating beings.

The witness and a relative were elk hunting from a ridge overlooking beaver ponds near dusk and called for elk. In response they heard loud, prolonged howling and whining vocalizations from multiple animals on the opposite ridge, repeated over about 10-15 minutes. They also heard splashing and saw ripples on a pond but saw no animals, then left quickly for their vehicle.

A family hiking around a high-elevation lake above treeline near Leadville found footprint-like depressions in moss between glacial rocks and found additional depressions on further search. They also noted moss torn from boulders, chewed, and left in neat piles, and heard grouped rapping sounds on each of three visits over three days. They recorded the tracks and moss on video and made a cast of one track. No animal was seen.
