The witness hiked to a bedrock outcropping to camp overnight. Around midnight the witness awoke and heard a loud high-pitched scream from about 100 yards away. The witness shouted back and exchanged screams for about an hour, including screams later heard from a different direction, while throwing gathered stones toward the sounds. In the morning the witness found dry leaves in the sound area and was puzzled at hearing no movement noise.

The witness was camped alone with a dog near a sinkhole on a farm bluff to feed horses in the morning. After building a fire and cooking, loud grunts, growls and scream-like screeches came from the sinkhole while many young trees shook violently despite little wind. While leaving through the woods toward the car they heard loud screeching and something large jumping nearby without being seen. They left quickly in the car, with the witness feeling the source was too big to be people.

The sound seemed to fade as if moving away and frightened the witness. No creature was seen and no tracks were found. The witness states similar howls occurred a couple more times that summer.

In July 1977 the witness was helping a relative fix fence on a hill behind the ranch around noon. He and the relative saw two tall pine trees sway inside the fence line and then heard a loud yelling uhhing sound. A tall tree bent sharply and crashing movement through dense brush showed where a large animal was moving.

Years later after watching television programs, the witness concluded the sounds were likely made by a bigfoot.
