Home owner reports strange howls and possible ongoing activity near Kiel
The witness was outside with children near the barn just before sunset when a loud howl was heard from about 100 yards to the south. Five or six howls followed as the source moved over a mile in about two minutes, seeming to face the witness while moving downhill. The witness, an experienced hunter familiar with local wildlife, said the sound matched nothing previously heard.

The witness was outside at the horse boarding property late at night when loud screams were heard from the west toward the river. The witness first thought of a woman screaming but judged the sounds as not human. About 20 horses became agitated and stared west while the witness's dog growled with raised hackles, and the dog remained wary toward the same area the next morning. No creature was seen.

The witness stepped outside at night to empty the trash and heard 4 or 5 loud siren-like whoops with emphasis toward the end. A pack of coyotes vocalized intensely during the sounds. After the sounds ended, everything went quiet, including the coyotes.

The witness was gathering firewood behind the house at night when whooping sounds were heard coming from dark woods about 100 yards away. Horses were heard bolting nearby and the witness's dog barked toward the woods while a faint zoo-like odor was smelled. The event lasted about one to two minutes and the witness felt watched without ever seeing the source.

The witness had just lain down to sleep in a rented cabin around 11pm when a loud, close, high-pitched scream/howl was heard. The sound repeated several more times at 15-25 second intervals, while dogs were heard barking higher up the ridge. The witness estimated the source was within a few hundred feet and said the sound was unlike any known animal and not believed to be human.

After a wounded bull ran past the witness, a very loud angry howl or growl came from the wooded hill below. On Saturday morning they began hearing very loud guttural scream-growls that seemed to warn them away from certain areas, including the path to the lake, and the sounds continued into Sunday. Overnight they heard cooking gear clanging and a heavy thump like logs dumped beside their trailer, but in the morning the gear was largely in place and no logs were found, and the companion also reported a strong putrid smell.

The witness and his father were dressing an elk on a steep mountain slide when they heard 8-10 loud rhythmic knocks from dense timber about 100 yards away to the south. The sounds were described as crisp impacts like rock on wood and unlike anything they could identify. The father had heard similar loud knocks earlier that same morning from up the slide.

He found two live trees bent over a logging road, then heard repeated knocking sounds from the direction of his entry route. While leaving through a creek bottom at dusk, he heard rocks striking and rolling downstream several times before driving out without seeing the source.

The witness was on a hunting trip with three companions and went to collect firewood in the evening. An extremely loud scream-like vocalization was heard from a nearby valley, prompting the pair collecting wood to return to camp. The group continued to hear similar vocalizations from multiple directions through the night, along with sounds like rocks being knocked together near camp. Nothing was ever seen.

Three coworkers riding in a golf cart while collecting flags passed within a few feet of a tall pale human-like figure beside the path near hole 13. They drove past, confirmed they had all seen something, and turned back; two of them saw it again peeking from behind the elevated tee box before it moved out of sight. They left, returned minutes later in an enclosed cart, and heard repeated creaking sounds nearby before leaving the area.
Family hears vocalizations and finds footprints in their backyard east of Pekin
The witness's brother was sleeping in a tent in the yard and woke around 12:30 a.m. feeling uneasy after hearing something outside. He looked around the tent, saw nothing, and went inside the house to sleep on the couch. The next morning very large footprints were found right outside the tent in wet sand and were photographed.

The witness was outside the home late at night and heard a strange loud screaming, yelping or whooping sound. The witness was alone during this first hearing. The sound was later compared to recordings on a research website and felt to be similar.

The witness was fishing at night in a park when he heard two large splashes in the river behind him followed by a loud awful scream. He then heard rustling like a scuffle in dry leaves and a deep purring or heavy breathing sound lasting about a minute before the source moved away. Frightened by sounds he did not recognize, he left the area and went home early.
