The witness was hunting rabbits near a small pond on the property and had just shot a rabbit. A large black hairy figure standing a short distance beyond the rabbit fled rapidly downhill through the woods, making loud noise. The witness retrieved the rabbit and returned to the house, avoiding the area for months.

The witness hiked a loop trail near Lake Cushman with three family members in late morning. The group heard a mournful 8-10 second howl/groan and about 30 minutes later encountered a strong skunk- and ammonia-like odor near a creek bridge on both sides of the trail. They also noticed unusual uprooted mushrooms along the trail. No creature was seen.

After hearing something large run off unseen, they found a single fresh human-like barefoot print in mud beside a puddle. The witness was deer hunting from a tree stand when a strong foul odor drifted from upwind and appeared to move past him, from the river bottom behind him toward the ridge top, without any source being seen. Roughly an hour later he heard paired thudding sounds like logs or a log hitting a tree, which repeated again after about another hour from the same location. The woods around his stand were unusually quiet, while his companion farther upstream reported normal wildlife activity.

The witness left a cabin on foot to photograph the lake and fall colors. While walking back toward the cabin he heard loud, rhythmic wood-on-wood knocks coming from a wooded, hilly area. The knocks stopped when he stopped to look and resumed briefly when he walked again. He saw no source, noted no odor, and heard no other vocalizations.

The witness and a female companion were hiking in a wooded area in the morning when they heard very loud rustling like a small tree being shaken, followed by a long low howl, growls, grunts, snorts and squeals. The same sequence repeated a couple minutes later. They did not see what made the sounds and left within minutes.

The witness was doing senior photos at a lake with two companions when rocks were repeatedly thrown into the water from across the lake, accompanied by tree knocks and limb breaking. The group took burst photos toward the sounds and then left the area. At home the witness found what he believed to be a black orangutan-faced figure holding a white object in two of the photos, plus a possible smaller shape in a tree.

The witness was bow hunting alone from a tree stand at Camp Robinson in October 2010. After dark he heard a very loud, deep, gravelly growl/yell from an estimated 150-200 yards away, then heard it again closer while walking out. He left quickly without seeing the source and later could not match the sound to known animal recordings.

The witness was hiking alone and sitting on a bluff when he heard heavy thudding sounds like footsteps, followed by rock-clacking sounds from brush about 40-50 yards away. He exchanged rock bangs with the unseen source for about 10-15 minutes, with it mimicking the number of bangs he made. He became frightened as it got dark and returned to camp without seeing the source.

The witness and a companion were sitting outside the companion's house at night when they heard a scream from a nearby swamp. Shortly after they heard a large animal breaking branches in woods on their side of the road. After owls called behind the house, an unseen object coming from the woods landed in the yard behind them.

The witness was hunting elk with a muzzleloader several miles north of a ski area as snow began to fall. From a small canyon he heard chimp-like huffing and chattering that seemed to come from three individuals on both sides of the ravine. He tried to see the sources as the sounds kept moving ahead with him but saw nothing, then returned to camp as the storm worsened and daylight faded.

The witness and his wife arrived at their weekend cabin in the evening and noticed a strong musky skunk-like odor outside. About an hour later the witness was outside with the dog and heard three loud whoop-like calls from the woods east of the property. The witness and a companion were sleeping in their vehicle at a forest campsite. During the night they heard something rubbing against the vehicle, knocking items over, and rummaging around camp, including toppling chairs and a canopy. The companion, while lying down, reported seeing a tall black shape pass the window and leave away from roads. In the morning the chairs were overturned and the canopy was found upside down about 20 feet away, with otherwise little disturbance and no clear prints.

The witness was supervising a crew clearing brush under a highway bridge in the morning. The group noticed a strange odor, heard persistent movement and muffled grunts, and watched something peeping from behind a tree. Later a skinned rabbit hung high in a tree disappeared, bare footprints larger than the workers feet were found in mud by a creek, and loud limb-breaking sounds caused the whole crew to flee.

In the morning the witness, companion, and other campers discussed the sounds, and the witness concluded they matched sasquatch whoops heard on recordings.

Three backpackers sleeping on a beach woke around 3:45 a.m. when their dog ran to a nearby ridge and grappled with something. The witness ran over and saw an enormous figure in the dark that stayed silent when challenged. A companion later saw a torso-like figure put a hand on a rock at the top of the ridge and disappear, and reported an elk-like moaning sound during the struggle.
Two fishermen frightened after dark on Lake Kanawauke
The witness and a companion were in a boat heading toward shore at night when they heard splashes, smelled a foul wet-animal odor, and saw shoreline vegetation shaking violently. A large rock was thrown from shore toward them and landed near the boat. When they shone a flashlight toward shore they saw a large dark human-shaped figure with red glowing eyes partly obscured by vegetation, then yelled and banged oars before retreating to a safer distance and hearing a loud scream or roar as they loaded the boat and left.

Over a couple months of visits to a small rural cemetery, the witness and companions repeatedly heard wood knocks surrounding them, logs or objects being thrown, and a walnut thrown back toward them. They also heard growls, hissing, grunts, yells and screams on separate occasions, and once heard a large unseen thing charge to the cemetery edge then go silent. They never saw the source, reported no departing footsteps, and described a persistent feeling of being watched and warned from entering the woods.

The witness and a cousin were kayak fishing on a mountain lake when they heard knocking from a steep forested bank. They paddled closer and exchanged knocks by striking the kayak with a paddle for several minutes until the sounds from shore stopped. They waited and watched the area but saw no person or animal.
