A couple sleeping in their parked SUV at a logging-road campsite were awakened around 2:30 a.m. when the wife felt a firm touch on her leg through a partially open rear window and then heard light footfalls moving away. Neither witness saw anything when listening and peeking out. In the morning they found very large muddy fingerprints on the vehicle near the window.

The witness was alone in the travel trailer at night while her husband was away smoking by the creek. She reported hearing unintelligible muttering outside and then feeling a hard push or jolt that moved the trailer. Two companions camped while hunting for five days near Dillon State Park. On successive nights they heard tree knocks from multiple directions, whistles, whoops, loud yells and screams that approached the camp, growling near the camper, and banging on vehicles in a nearby junkyard. By day they found numerous large human-like footprints in a shallow spillway and on a sandy bank, which they photographed with boots for scale. They reported no visual sighting but concluded the sounds and tracks were from a large, athletic creature.

While photographing they saw green eye-shine above the brush and a large upright shadowy outline, then heard wood knocks, growling and heavy footsteps before the eyes disappeared.

The witness and a companion were sleeping in their vehicle at a forest campsite. During the night they heard something rubbing against the vehicle, knocking items over, and rummaging around camp, including toppling chairs and a canopy. The companion, while lying down, reported seeing a tall black shape pass the window and leave away from roads. In the morning the chairs were overturned and the canopy was found upside down about 20 feet away, with otherwise little disturbance and no clear prints.

An air horn had no effect, but setting off the truck panic alarm with lights and horn stopped the shaking. About five minutes later a very loud howl-growl-scream came from behind the trailer. The next day the witness and a companion could not replicate the movement by pushing the trailer.

After prolonged bark-tearing and movement sounds followed by silence, a long thick branch flew from the trees and struck the van's side mirror with enough force to shatter it. The witness and a companion were night fishing when they heard rustling, snapping and thumping approaching from the woods. Something ran across gravel behind them, slapped the side of their parked pickup three times, and shook branches while heavy footsteps were felt. After reaching the truck to leave, they heard a loud, close, high-pitched unearthly scream and drove away quickly.

The witness was on a multi-day winter camping trip with her husband in a remote area. One evening she left the camper to collect ice, felt watched, and hurried back. Later that night while sleeping in the overhead camper bed she awoke to the camper being nudged and heard a deep sniffing sound outside at the level of the sleeping area. Her husband slept through it, and no tracks were found because the snow was packed to ice.

Twelve hunters were sleeping in a meadow camp after a day of bow hunting. Around 2 a.m. something heavy ran through the camp emitting a high-pitched female-like scream. The runner shook a truck as it passed and knocked over a full ice chest but was not seen in the dark. No unusual prints were found the next morning.

The witness was driving toward the beach at dusk when a large hairy creature stood in the road. The car glanced the creature, then the witness stopped and the creature got up, approached, and chased the car, striking the rear. The witness drove away and later found a dented quarter panel with hair, a shattered spoiler, and a lingering foul smell on the car.

During an evening at a deer-hunting camp, the group heard loud bangs on the side of their camper on two occasions but found no one outside. Later that night while around a campfire, all five heard prolonged screaming and moaning sounds coming from across an arroyo toward the foothills. Two members walked toward the sounds but saw nothing, and a search of the area the next day found nothing unusual.
